Contract Data Engineer - Databricks £400/day Inside IR35 - Immediate Start

The Role

As a Data engineer, you'll play a key role in migrating existing data platforms and pipelines to Databricks, working within a modern Azure data environment. You'll design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark, ensuring data is reliable, performant, and ready to support business-critical analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Migrate SQL, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to Databricks.
* Design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.
* Develop and maintain data solutions within a modern Azure cloud environment.
* Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across the platform.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data migration and transformation projects.
* Support the design and implementation of best practices for data engineering and cloud architecture.
* Troubleshoot, optimise, and enhance existing data pipelines to improve efficiency and scalability.

About You

You will be a Data Engineer who is passionate about working on exciting, large-scale data transformation projects. You'll have strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and thrive in a collaborative environment where you can make a real impact by delivering modern, scalable data solutions.

Key requirements:

* Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark
* Proven experience migrating SQL Server, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to Databricks
* Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines within Azure
* Strong SQL and cloud data engineering expertise
