    * Escalate QA issues with OEM suppliers, fabricated items and other supply partners.

    A leading financial services organisation is seeking an experienced GCP AI Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join its growing AI function. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in building, managing and optimising the secure cloud environments that underpin a rapidly expanding AI portfolio.

    Working as part of a specialist AI Cloud & Environments team, you will be responsible for ensuring AI developers, innovation teams and technology partners have access to scalable, compliant and highly available environments that enable the delivery of cutting-edge AI solutions. This role combines cloud engineering, platform operations, AI infrastructure and governance, making it ideal for someone who wants to be at the forefront of enterprise AI adoption.

    The Role

    As the AI Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer, you will take ownership of AI-specific cloud environments across development, testing and production, ensuring they remain secure, well-governed and operationally efficient.

    You will work closely with AI, infrastructure, security and compliance teams to deliver robust cloud platforms that support model hosting, vector databases, AI integrations and LLMOps capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Build, manage and maintain AI cloud environments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
    * Support AI development, testing and production workloads including model hosting, vector databases and API gateway services.
    * Implement and operate LLMOps tooling, including model registries, evaluation frameworks, monitoring pipelines and prompt management solutions.
    * Configure and secure API gateways for internally developed AI services and third-party integrations, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.
    * Provision and maintain sandbox and staging environments to support rapid AI development and experimentation.
    * Work closely with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure environments meet regulatory, governance and data residency requirements.
    * Support incident management activities and maintain service levels across the AI platform.
    * Own cloud cost governance, including budgets, quota management, spend monitoring and optimisation initiatives.
    * Produce and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks and operational knowledge articles.
    * Identify, remediate and manage security vulnerabilities and compliance risks across cloud platforms.
    * Contribute to the wider infrastructure and platform engineering function as required.

    About You

    We're looking for a hands-on GCP cloud engineer with strong experience supporting AI and machine learning platforms in enterprise environments.

    Essential Experience

    * Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including AI and Machine Learning services such as Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise and Gemini Agent Platform.
    * Experience with Azure AI services and the broader Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
    * Practical experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure, including:

    * Vector databases
    * Model hosting solutions
    * Serverless inference
    * Containerised AI workloads
    * Model versioning and evaluation pipelines

    * Experience configuring and securing API gateways and AI integration services.
    * Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and modern AI connector architectures.
    * Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform.
    * Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps and GitOps methodologies.
    * Strong cloud cost management and optimisation experience.
    * Scripting and automation skills using Python and/or PowerShell.
    * Experience with Graph API and cloud automation tooling.
    * Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
