    AWS DevOps Engineer

    Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

    My client are one of the UK's leading cloud and secure managed hosting providers - supplying dedicated servers, private and public cloud hosting solutions, and a full range of technical, cybersecurity, and DevOps consulting services. They are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to drive them forward on their Public Cloud journey.

    Reporting to the AWS Technical Director, your team will be critical to the success of their AWS evolution. Significant investment from leading private equity firm Inflexion is enabling them to rapidly advance their AWS offering, causing customer demand to soar. Although projects are diverse in length and scope, they are technically challenging, complex, and highly fulfilling.

    This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn and progress quickly, collaborating with some of the most talented engineers in the Public Cloud/MSP industry.

    As further pathways for AWS partnership levels are shaped, you will have access to new products, applications, and services to maximise your career potential in the Public Cloud space.     Role & Responsibilities

    * Develop a broad knowledge of how applications and services are constructed using services within the AWS Ecosystem
    * Build and deploy projects from customers using best practices and internally designed solutions
    * Define implementation architectures and own the success of specific implementation projects
    * Be a point of contact for support escalations within AWS
    * Develop high quality, enterprise-scale IT systems or software projects
    * Conduct thorough product testing for new technologies

    Skills & Qualifications

    * A proven track record of delivering and supporting production systems at scale with AWS
    * Expertise in CI/CD automation; experience in AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and Code Pipeline is desirable
    * Significant experience in AWS Cloud Architecture and Design
    * A good understanding of application, server, network security, and compliance requirements
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work efficiently across internal and external organisations
    * Good knowledge of Cloud VM and Server technologies, including service management across a hybrid-cloud environment
    * Linux or Windows system administration, scripting, and automation skills
    * Excellent troubleshooting skills
    * Excellent documentation and reporting techniques
    * Experience in writing Infrastructure as Code - Terraform preferred or CloudFormation
    * Common DevOps tooling skills e.g. Ansible or Git
    * Professional Experience with at least one popular programming language e.g. Python, NodeJS, or Java
    * Experience with a wide range of AWS Services such as RDS, EC2, Elasticache, CloudFront, Autoscaling, or Lambda
    * Experience with implementing and supporting containers in AWS on EKS and ECS

    Jefferson Frank is looking to speak with immediately available DevOps Engineers to work on a 6 month contract for a consultancy who have a high profile client within the public sector. This is an outside of IR35 contract which is fully remote as per the climate.

    The project is fully remote due to the climate, however the role will require some travel 1-2 days to Leeds after easing of restrictions.

    The client has confirmed any travel will be fully expensed.

    Requirements

    -Experience in Terraform, Gitlab CI/CD pipelines set-up and using AWS products and services
    -Experience working with automation and implementation for microservices architecture

    Jefferson Frank is searching for a DevOps Engineer to work with a public sector organisation based in London. This is a 12 months FTC on a long term project with extensions and the role will be fully remote for the duration.

    Technical Requirements

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1 Lead development and rollout of a continuous integration and deployment pipeline across digital's estate of apps and services, use of containerisation techniques where appropriate, and working collaboratively with other departments
    2 Support developers, system administrators and technical architects to use DevOps approaches to design, architect, automate and implement highly available and fault-tolerant environments (staging, quality assurance, user acceptance and production), with multi-cloud capability primarily starting on AWS or Azure
    3 Work with technical colleagues to define and implement DevOps methodology using practices recommended in the GDS Digital by Default Service Standard. Support the team to extend our continuous integration pipeline across our estate of mobile and web apps
    4 Write infrastructure as code for AWS or Azure. Use cross-platform APIs and automation/deployment technologies such as Ansible or similar to orchestrate cloud platform deployments
    5 Support and fix bugs in existing application deployment pipelines, using standard debugging tools to track down and identify root causes. Work independently to find solutions / identify problems and to work with the Lead and Senior Developers to solve more challenging issues
    6 Review existing applications, advising and supporting colleagues on configuring and converting them for deployment to the cloud or migrate from other cloud providers. Support setting up continuous integration/deployment, developing automation scripts and advising developers on adapting them to run in the cloud
    7 Working in sprints in a multidisciplinary scrum team, collaborate and liaise with delivery managers, product owners and other stakeholders to identify business requirements and implement user stories
    8 Collaborate and work with external developers and cloud service providers to ensure PHE derives the maximum benefit from any third-party service providers and that the right knowledge is transferred in-house
    9 Continuously seek to improve your own knowledge of work areas, bringing your learning back into the team, and embrace the agile framework of software delivery. Support colleagues to reach full agility using DevOps best practices including continuous integrations, delivery, and release
    10 Consistently work to meet project deadlines and manage time effectively to deliver projects on budget
