Our client is in search of an experienced Software Engineer proficient in native code Linux, network, and kernel development to join the rapidly expanding and high-performing engineering team. The focus of this role is on enhancing their security software by emphasizing blocking and analysis rather than the Cloud Application side.

As a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to developing home security solutions for operator home routers (CPE-devices). Your responsibilities will include building highly optimized software for Linux-based CPE devices, developing solutions for network security, parental control, and network device intelligence, as well as porting the software to various Linux-based router platforms.

The team, consisting of 16 Engineers (6 in Lithuania, 9 in Finland, and 1 in Hungary), comprises individuals from 5 different nationalities (Russian, English, Finnish, Estonian, and a Kiwi). This role specifically involves working on the Customer Specific side of the business, focusing on certain build features for high-profile customers. The work schedule follows a strict working day, eliminating the need for late-night calls with American teams. The primary technologies in use include C and Linux Kernel, with a dedicated "Agent Feature" team working on the internal product.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Develop highly optimized software for Linux-based CPE devices
    - Create solutions for network security, parental control, and network device intelligence
    - Port the developed solution to various Linux-based CPE platforms
    - Build automation for functional, performance, and resilience testing
    - Contribute to test lab infrastructure planning and implementation

    Essential Skills and Experience:
    - Hands-on experience in Embedded C programming, native code Linux development, including proficiency in Linux Application Development (Yocto, Arch Linux is beneficial)
    - Strong knowledge of the Linux network stack is beneficial, encompassing experience with IP networks and TCP/IP technologies, along with a solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 fundamentals.
    - Familiarity with embedded Linux build systems such as Openwrt and Yocto.
    - Excellent understanding of IP-based protocols.
    - Expertise in building Firewalls or protocol clients.
    - Knowledge of developing C applications in the Linux environment.
    - Detailed knowledge of Linux operating systems architecture.
    - Experience in developing software for embedded systems.
    - Proven track record of building solutions with high stability, performance, security, maintainability, and scalability.
    - Familiarity with the Agile software development process.
    - Proficiency in systems monitoring, performance optimization, root cause analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.
    - Experience with CI/CD, TDD, and test automation frameworks (PyTest).
    - Networking stack expertise, including experience with IP networks and TCP/IP technologies, as well as Layer 2/Layer 3 fundamentals.
    - Bonus: Hardware understanding.

Minimum experience requirement: 2-5 years, though a deeper level of experience is not considered a decisive factor. The candidate values potential and is open to considering slightly more junior candidates.
