Head of Data Deployment & Risk Management

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)

An international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Data Deployment & Risk Management to lead the safe and efficient testing, deployment, and delivery of large-scale data initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of complex technical projects, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality requirements while managing risk and fostering innovation.

The Role

This position plays a critical part in shaping the future of the organisation's data capabilities. The Head of Data Deployment & Risk Management will collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise, including technology teams, business leaders, and external partners, to ensure projects align with regulatory standards, security requirements, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery and improvement of complex data and technology projects using Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks.
*

Manage risk across the software product lifecycle, identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential challenges.
*

Partner with product managers, engineers, and quality teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support customer and business needs.
*

Oversee vendor relationships to ensure performance against agreed terms.
*

Drive continuous improvement by adopting modern technologies and best practices in testing, deployment, and risk management.
*

Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Essential Experience

*

Proven expertise in Cloud technologies
*

Strong background in Change and Risk Management within financial services.
*

Delivery experience in Scaled Agile or similar frameworks.
*

Knowledge of modern testing and environment management frameworks.

Highly Valued Skills

*

Experience with Test Automation Strategy / Engineering.
*

Professional Risk Management qualifications (e.g., CRISC, IRM, FRM).
*

Knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD strategy and engineering.
