Job Title: Senior Performance DBA

Salary: USD 150,000

Location: Remote (Headquartered in Virginia, United States)

Jefferson Frank, a leading niche IT Recruitment Company, is collaborating with our esteemed client, a Partner in Computer Software, to seek a seasoned Senior Performance DBA. This is a remote position offering an annual salary of USD 150,000, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge database management strategies and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our databases.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Performance Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure efficiency and reliability.


* Design, implement, and maintain database systems for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Perform ongoing monitoring, tuning, and optimization of database systems to enhance efficiency and response times.
* Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, including query optimization and resource contention.
* Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas, indexes, and queries.
* Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to database administration and performance.
* Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard database systems and sensitive data.
* Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing downtime and risks.
* Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in database administration.


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
* Proven track record as a Database Administrator, with a focus on performance tuning and optimization in a Production environment.
* Proficiency in database performance monitoring tools and techniques.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Hands-on experience with Oracle Golden Gate, Data Guard, OEM, RAC, and PostgreSQL.


* Extensive experience in Oracle database technologies, preferably Oracle v19c.
* Previous involvement in writing PL/SQL triggers and/or procedures.
* Proficiency in Database SQL and Database tuning (Profiles, Baseline).
* Experience supporting Database infrastructure in the cloud (AWS, OCI).
* Ability to work autonomously yet collaboratively in a team environment.
* Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
* Understanding of database backup and recovery techniques using RMAN and Network Appliance filers.
* Experience with high-volume websites utilizing multi-tier architectures.
* Familiarity with Oracle Real Application Clusters and implementation best practices.
* Possession of a valid Oracle OCP certification is advantageous.
* Experience developing and maintaining Ansible Playbooks is a plus.
