AWS DevOps Engineer - London - SC Clearance Required (£65,000 Base + 15% Bonus)



I'm working with a dynamic SaaS software firm looking for a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer. In this role, you'll be pivotal in crafting and deploying innovative solutions to enhance the company's infrastructure and software development workflows. With nearly two decades of establishment, they specialise in Cloud-based InfoSec products, serving a clientele of over 500 globally.

As part of a small yet impactful Cloud Infrastructure team, you'll focus on fortifying the underlying infrastructure for their flagship SaaS products. While they've been leveraging AWS and Kubernetes for some time, there's still ample room for enhancing scalability, security, and automating processes.

This position is open to candidates across London. However, due to client requirements, SC level Security Clearance is a must. This criterion is applicable to UK citizens or those who have resided continuously in the UK for over 5 years.

To be considered, you should bring at least 3 years of DevOps experience with expertise in AWS and Kubernetes, along with a strong grasp of Cloud security principles.



Key experience should include:

* AWS

About the role:

As a Senior Solutions Architect at the company, you will design, scope, estimate, and oversee multiple professional services projects. You'll manage tasks, prioritize workloads, and collaborate with leadership, project managers, and engineers to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.

Your role involves diverse projects in the Public Sector, Education, and private sector, including creating automated exam environments, virtual classrooms, virtualizing museum collections, and collecting climate data.

Responsibilities:

* Lead on customer scoping and design calls to gather requirements, build a project scope and time to deliver an estimate for the project.
* Formulate a customer's problem into an architectural solution which will deliver value to the customer.
* Building positive customer relationships.
* Working closely with the project team to deliver the project to a high standard, to the project scope within the project time and budget constraints.
* Either leading the project delivery by completing the work yourself or oversee our Cloud Engineers to deliver professional services projects.

* More than 3 years of experience in gathering project scope, requirements, and conducting design sessions with customers, both virtually and face-to-face.
* Proficient in estimating delivery timelines based on the skill sets of team members.
* Possess an AWS Solution Architect Professional certification.
* Skilled in writing precise and detailed Statements of Work, including high-level architectural designs.
* Over 4 years of experience with core AWS services, such as Load Balancing, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3, and CloudWatch.
* More than 5 years of experience in modernizing legacy architectures through containerization and microservices.
* Extensive experience, over 5 years, in designing and building AWS serverless solutions, including API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
* Over 5 years of experience with best practices for deployment mechanisms, including deploying releases across multiple environments, with a preference for AWS native tooling, though other technologies are also accepted.
* Experienced in migrating customers from on-premise environments to the cloud.

Already a leading market option for business-critical services with sensitive data, they're the first to launch a private Kubernetes (container as a service) and are partnered with the likes of HashiCorp.

After working with this company for many years I've seen them develop from a smaller team with a huge amount of ambition, to now working with some of the best engineers who have a passion for open source, sustainability and automation, and have now been named as "the preferred choice for organisations seeking a trustworthy cloud partner".

Right now they're building their Chapter team with a Senior SRE who will build and manage everything from hardware in the data centres, to the platforms and services. They're looking for an engineer in an SRE or similar role, with concrete knowledge in:
