Jefferson Frank is currently seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team! The Platform Engineer will architect, build, and maintain systems and services to support the platform and products, and will be a part of a team of technologists passionate about driving efficiency through automation.

Role & Responsibilities

* Architect, develop, & maintain scalable systems and services to support our platform and products - You will be working with custom developed applications and integrations with industry standard tools and services.
* Maintain, adapt, and evolve existing applications, tools, and services to meet the needs of both internal and external customers - You will work with other teams to solve operational and technical challenges with automation and process improvement.
* Advanced knowledge of public cloud platforms, tools, and technologies.
* Collaborate with other Platform team members and the broader organization on projects.
* Be an expert with respect to the latest technologies for cloud services and service delivery.

Skills & Qualifications

* 4+ years experience in a developer position.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study, or applicable career experience.
* Proven experience developing, implementing and maintaining:
Web applications written in Python and JavaScript.
Web APIs using GraphQL is a plus.
* Deploying applications using Docker, ECS, EKS or equivalent.
* Databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch.
* Message Brokers such as RabbitMQ or SQS a plus.
* Proven experience implementing and maintaining AWS services such as EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, ECS, and Lambda.
* Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Chef is a plus.
* Experience in a managed services environment is a big plus.
* Strong teamwork, listening, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate technical needs to a range of audiences.

Platform Engineer/Devops - Newcastle - 100% remote but then next year go into the office.

My client has a team of IT specialists within their Digital Directorate will be responsible for the development and support of the system tier in a DevOps environment for services across the entire NHSBSA enterprise, delivering a range of services that allow NHSBSA and its customers to benefit from the those technologies.

Role & Responsibilities;

* Responsible for supporting the pipeline of development, availability, maintenance and performance enhancements of a number of business critical solutions for the whole organisation and its customers.
* The post holder will work to install, build and enhance their system tier and deployment support model to allow for continuous deployment and availability in a DevOps environment.
* You will play an important role in their agile software release process while participating on projects, within a multi-disciplinary team, associated with release engineering, application deployment, system installation, monitoring, scripting, building schemas, application load testing and various automation tasks.
* You will also assist with infrastructure management, system admin, developing schemas and making improvements within their deployment environments.
* Your work will create the path that allows them to deploy code to production on a weekly (or possibly daily) basis.
* You will deal with a range of challenging non-routine and complex technical and professional work activities, in a variety of contexts.
* Work involves creative application of wide range of technical principles and detailed knowledge of business areas.
* You will be required to operate with a high degree of autonomy and show creativity when solving highly complex and convoluted problems.
