    As a key member of an Engineering team, you'll be working with our customers to build systems that support their core mission capabilities. You'll work as part of empowered, autonomous DevOps teams to flexibly and efficiently understand, design, develop, deploy and maintain applications and services. You'll be encouraged to identify new ways of solving problems and get to work in a range of different teams across our customer organisations. You will work in a small team and be given as much ownership and responsibility as you have the appetite for. You'll be part of a much larger Engineering community to give you the support you want to grow your knowledge, and capabilities.

    Skills & Qualifications

    You will have experience of working in a DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure role. Great communication and problem solving skills are vital in this role, as is a desire to learn new technologies.

    In addition will have:

    * An appreciation of Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD tooling
    * Scripting abilities with languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python etc
    * A working knowledge of Linux, networking, routing & firewalls etc
    * Experience of working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, etc)

    What are the Duties and Responsibilities?

    Ultimately, the purpose of this opportunity is to successfully build and deliver our clients next-generation cloud-hosted and cloud-native technology platforms.

    This involves working alongside product teams within the full software development life cycle, supporting as such to ensure that solutions and products being developed consider all functional and non-functional requirement.

    The key accountabilities are therefore as such;

    * Build and maintain production/non-production environments to ensure high availability and cost optimisation
    * Build and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines to achieve fast, effect software delivery
    * Improve performance and scalability of existing systems to meet functional and non-functional requirements
    * Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues to minimise incidents and achieve resolution SLAs

    What experience is our client looking for?

    Our client is looking for an experienced individual in the field of AWS and DevOps to lead their team in their Leeds based office. As such, effective teamwork skills and strong interpersonal skills and highly desirable, alongside leadership experience and passion for new technologies.

    Core tech experience is sought in the following;

    * Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation etc ..)
    * Programming (.Net, Java, C++, Python, etc ..)
    * Microservices and application architecture (Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless etc ..)
    * CI/CD to automate testing and deployment

    In addition, our client is looking for a candidate who will be able to come into the Leeds based office (Just a ten minute walk away from the train station), at a frequency of once per week.



    What is our client offering?

    You will work in an Agile team collaborating closely with Architects, Product Managers and Solution Architects.

    Experience Required:

    * Strong ETL skills using Talend or Pentaho.
    * Database background of one of the following Oracle, RDS, Redshift, Hadoop, MySQL, Postgres etc
    * Various Data Architecture techniques including Data Modelling, Data Warehousing etc
    * Job Scheduling
