The Opportunity

A leading technology organisation is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to drive the development of internal AI platforms, intelligent agents, and engineering tools that improve productivity across a large engineering function.

This is a senior hands-on technical role focused on designing, building, and scaling AI infrastructure. You will act as the technical authority for AI engineering, solving complex challenges while mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical standards across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design and development of AI platforms, autonomous agents, and AI infrastructure.
* Own architecture for LLM integrations, RAG solutions, model operations, evaluation frameworks, and governance.
* Remain hands-on with system design and software development.
* Define AI engineering standards, best practices, and technical strategy.
* Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver safe and scalable AI solutions.
* Mentor engineers and raise technical capability across the wider organisation.

Requirements

* 10+ years' experience in software engineering.
* Previous Staff or Principal Engineer experience delivering complex distributed systems.
* Proven experience building and deploying AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or applied machine learning.
* Strong background in cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP), backend systems, and platform architecture.
* Experience influencing technical direction and mentoring senior engineers.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

* Multi-cloud and modern DevOps experience.
* AI governance, evaluation, or responsible AI practices.
* Experience within regulated or privacy-focused environments.
* Technical community leadership, advocacy, speaking, or educational experience.
* Founder, CTO, or highly autonomous leadership background.

Power BI Trainer

£300 per day | Outside IR35

We're seeking a Power BI Trainer to deliver a programme of instructor-led training sessions across multiple UK locations between August and October.

This opportunity would suit a freelance trainer or consultant with a strong background in delivering Power BI training within corporate environments. Whilst the work is spread across several dates, candidates must be available for the full schedule listed below. First cohort location is Southampton the rest are TBC.

Databricks Data Engineer

£400 per day | Inside IR35 | 6-Month Contract | Fully Remote

We are currently seeking a Databricks Engineer to support a large-scale data platform migration project, moving from Azure SQL to Databricks.

Working as part of an established data team, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising data solutions whilst ensuring the successful migration of existing workloads into a modern Databricks environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the migration of data workloads from Azure SQL to Databricks
* Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines
* Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes within Azure and Databricks
* Collaborate with data architects, engineers and business stakeholders
* Ensure data quality, integrity and performance throughout the migration
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
* Contribute to best practices across data engineering and platform development

Required Skills & Experience

* Strong commercial experience with Databricks
* Advanced SQL development skills
* Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
* Proven track record delivering data migration projects
* Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
* Knowledge of data warehousing and modern data architectures
* Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Desirable Skills

* Experience with Azure Data Factory
* Python or PySpark development experience
* Experience working within cloud data transformation programmes
* Understanding of data governance and security best practices

Contract Details

* 6-Month Contract
* £400 per day

* Fully Remote
* Immediate start preferred (17th August is penciled start date)
