    Job Responsibilities

    * Build, configure, run and patch Kubernetes clusters.
    * Work with Software Developers to release code (including new applications) across the application stack (development, beta, production, etc).
    * Write delivery pipelines.
    * Contribute to Infrastructure as Code transformation programmes.
    * Take an automated-first approach to all tasks.
    * Engineer new tools and applications that improve production and deployment capabilities for all teams.
    * Problem-solving production issues including on-call responsibilities.
    * Work on projects across the business to ensure operational excellence.
    * Design and write automated tests within a CI framework on configuration, packaging and deployment scripts.
    * Work closely with Infrastructure and Security Engineers to implement operational requirements; identify and fix bugs and streamline development workflows.
    * Be an ambassador for DevOps across the business, influencing others to embrace automation and DevOps principles.
    * Work with the Release Manager to ensure successful and streamlined production deployments.

    Core skills

    * Strong operational experience running multi-tiered apps on Kubernetes, preferably including Helm chart development.
    * Solid background in software engineering using an object-oriented language.
    * Proficient with Git.
    * Experience with Linux and virtualization.
    * Deep knowledge of containerisation.
    * Confident with Ansible and Terraform for configuration management.
    * Substantial experience with AWS.
    * CI/CD tooling and delivery best practices.
    * Network and security knowledge.

This renowned client not only runs its domains, it also helps protect public services from cyber threat. This client also has a great global impact, donating a vast amount to improve the public's well-being and maintaining their carbon neutral standard.

    This client is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled DevOps Engineer, to join a collaborative team within their Internet Engineering and Operations function. This opportunity requires two days a month on-prem in their Oxford office.


    Responsibilities:

    -You will be deploying, managing, and maintaining different registry applications.

    -You will provide end-to-end support of new product features and services.

    -You will be delivering new automation initiatives to a complex application stack and problem-solving production issues including on-call responsibilities.

    -You will be working alongside infrastructure engineers and software developers, building relationships with other teams and key stakeholders to deliver value for customers.



    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    -Strong experience with Kubernetes.

    -Good experience with AWS and Terraform.

    -Good knowledge of Scripting Language and Git.

    -Experience of using common CI/CD tools (Jenkins preferred).



    Additional Experience That Will Lead Itself Well:

    -Operational experience with multi-tiered web apps, and a solid understanding of HTTP.

    -Knowledge of security best practises, networking, Ansible and Linux administration.

    -Experience of monitoring and alerting tools, e.g. Prometheus/Grafana.
