Experience

I am working with a industry leading cannabis company who raised around $50 million. They are looking to grow out their engineering team here in New York. The Data Engineer should have the following experience:

* Implementing ELT / ETL procedures to pipe data from ingestion to data warehouse
* Expertise and hands-on experience building a modern data stack using AWS especially s3 and Redshift
* Hands-on experience with deployment using CI/CD, Docker; experience with ECS good to have
* Hands on experience to with DAG based workflow orchestration frameworks like dbt, Luigi, Airflow, AWS Pipeline
* Experience with platforming ML & using Spark is a plus but not required
* Expert level skills in writing & managing optimized SQL for creating, updating and querying source of truth tables

An AWS Advanced Partner is currently searching for a Lead Big Data Engineer that has experience working with Hadoop, AWS platform and Python. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies on client site for some of the most exciting projects in the analytics community! Great opportunity to work with other BI & Big Data professionals and learn from some of the top professionals in the cloud and data space. You will also be leading a team in an Agile environment team of junior to mid-level Big Data Engineers.

Requirements:
-Knowledge or experience with AWS (EMR, EC2, EC2, S3)
-Proven experience with Python and Java
-Experience with Scala
-Work with C++ is a plus
-Design and develop scalable code in a Big Data environment
-Work with Apache Hadoop
-Experience with Scoop, Flume, Oozie or Zookeeper
-Hands-on with Apache Hive and Apache Spark
