My client, an IT automation and security company with the head office based in San Francisco are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their DevOps Service Delivery Platform (SDP) team on a permanent basis. About the role & main responsibilities:

Design and develop DevOps processes and tools to automate and audit operations
* Oversee constant improvement of the organisations methods to deploy & support the companies cloud architecture
* Take ownership and drive projects through completion
* Efficiently handle multiple requests
* Mentor junior engineers in best practices, automation, and data-driven approaches
* Participate in their DevOps 24x7 on-call production support rotation

About you:

- Experienced in supporting a high availability cloud environment in a DevOps, SRE, or sysadmin role
- Solid experience working in Amazon Web Services - EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudFormation, etc
- Strong networking skills (VPC, VPN, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, DNS)
- Provisioning, deploying and supporting containers with Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Scripting/development using Python/Go/bash, with associated source control
- Deploying and supporting end-to-end CI/CD (Git, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Ansible, etc.)
- Hands-on monitoring tool experience with: (Sysdig, Loggly, AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus)


Bachelor's/Master's degree in STEM preferred

Job description



DevOps Engineers are responsible for bridging the gap between software developers and the systems that run our code. Extensive, hands-on experience with AWS managed resources and Kubernetes clusters is a must.


Manage multiple AWS Kubernetes clusters in production and testing environments, and share the responsibility for architecture, service installation, application upgrades, system monitoring, proactive alerting, vulnerability management, documentation, and cost control

Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including the software build process, security scanning, container production, rollouts, and monitoring.

Define requirements, design architecture, and automate deployments with internal and external customers

Provide continuing documentation for all processes, procedures and changes, AWS metrics, and alarms, along with playbook responses

Automate the lifecycle of AWS systems

Maintain expertise in AWS as well as other cloud infrastructure offerings


Extensive experience in Kubernetes management, architecture, monitoring, and support, including experience with Kubernetes on AWS EKS

Experience with source control management systems, repositories, and CI/CD platforms in a software development shop, preferably using git and GitLab

Extensive hands-on experience building solutions on AWS technologies, including: EKS, EC2, S3

Extensive experience delivering infrastructure-as-code using technologies like CloudFormation, Terraform and Ansible

Experience with one or more of the following:

* Kustomize
* Argo
* Kafka
* Spark
* Scaling
