Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS), Hybrid, London, £70,000,£90,000

Role Purpose

This newly created role is to support a rapidly growing and well-supported Technology function. The key deliverables for this role will be to support the AWS-based teams to have infrastructure as code at the heart of everything they do and to help teams new to the AWS world to architect out what infrastructure they would require to fulfill their brief.

This individual should have experience with CloudFormation, CICD, IaC, Kubernetes, and Hashicorp, and have a knack for streamlining CICD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a mix of knowledge, a strong potential for growth, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

As an advisor to the technology group, this role requires hands-on experience with AWS building workloads, architecture, and solution designing. The engineer should have a solid understanding of multi-cloud environments and CDK, as well as experience with DevOps principles and Agile methodologies. Python proficiency is a must.

Requirements

* Excellent understanding of AWS and other cloud technologies (Azure/GCP).

* 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience.

* Experience or knowledge of the well-architected framework, DevOps, agile development, and cloud design principles

* Familiarity with deployment automation technologies (Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK, CircleCI, etc).

* Strong appreciation of information security.

* Proven experience implementing secure design principles

* Understanding of networks and network security.

* Proven problem-solving capability.

* AWS certified or equivalent experience in a proven environment.

* Quick learner and able to interact with various professionals, including Senior Management, Engineers and IT support.

* Programming knowledge, preferably Python.

* Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, threat modeling, and risk assessment.

* Knowledge of Agile ways of working and adaptability to switch between different methods (scum/kanban), depending on the task assigned.

Senior DevOps Engineer, £80,000, London, New Role!

A newly created role, for a well established name in their industry, will position the successful applicant directly under the Director of IT & Security. The key focus of the role is to support the AWS-based teams to have IaC at the heart of their actions & help teams architect out what infrastructure they need within Amazon Web Services.

What can you expect?

You'll be designing, deploying and maintaining AWS infrastructure using version-controlled deployment. In addition you'll be hardening deployments for security and high-availability by implementing best practise design principles. Working in a highly collaborative environment the expectation is that you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline deployment scaling of cloud workloads. Finally - in the vein of remaining at the cutting-edge of technology innovations you'll be encouraged to stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to propose and implement improvements.

What do i need?

* Excellent understanding of AWS and other cloud technologies
* Multiple years experience in Cloud infrastructure
* Experience or knowledge of the well-architected framework, DevOps, agile and cloud design principles.
* Familiarity with Cloudformation & CDK
* Programming knowledge, preferably Python.

The role is a hybrid position. We have an exciting opportunity available with one of our clients, a rapidly expanding SaaS company driven by data, boasting an impressive array of clients. We're in need of an experienced AWS DevOps engineer to help elevate their infrastructure, particularly focusing on early-stage architecture.

This is a pivotal moment to become part of the organisation, where the chosen candidate will significantly contribute to the advancement of both engineering and infrastructure departments. A solid foundation in infrastructure is a must for this role; we require a proactive engineer to collaborate closely with the CTO in designing, overseeing, and enhancing the current system.

Role and Responsibilities:

* Deploying, automating, managing, and maintaining cloud-based systems.
* Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability.
* Managing the creation, release, and configuration of systems.
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues across application domains and platforms.

* Strong AWS experience and knowledge with Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, RDS, ECS Fargate, AWS Organisations, IAM, KMS, preferably with certification in these areas.
* A good knowledge of AWS best practices around multi-account / multi-region setups and experience in SaaS based products
* Docker
* Good networking and security understanding
* Coding experience (ideally Clojure or JS) with an interest in functional languages
* Production support

An advisory services organisation based in Yorkshire are looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the infrastructure & Cloud based platforms.
