As a Java Engineer, you'll be part of one of the Engineering teams, creating great products by interpreting and following best practice architectural and engineering principles, operating frameworks, and new and improved tech applications and solutions. Using Java (8+) with tools and frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate and Maven, you'll own the design and development of large-scale, high performance services, including websites, apps, microservices and event driven architecture.

You'll have expertise in one or more of the programming languages in our ecosystem, such as java/springboot and with your technical craft, curiosity and experimentation, you'll use judgement to apply specific techniques to deliver focused outcomes that support our customers.

More about the role

* You'll own the design and development of large-scale high performance services using Java (8+) with tools and frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate and Maven. This includes websites, apps, microservices and event driven architecture
* You'll contribute to our product technical roadmap
* You'll work with cloud and container technologies such as Kubernetes on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
* You'll lead the design and support of services and internal frameworks that enhance their capabilities
* Engineering throughout the whole product lifecycle, including decommissioning
* You'll consider the cost and service support implications of your engineering choices

Senior Front End Developer - FULLY REMOTE

Salary up to £70k + shares



The Senior Front End Developer is responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Senior Front End Developer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Participates in planning, architecture, and research
* Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research
* Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
* Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
* Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
* Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
* May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports

Preferred Skills:

* Commercial experience with typescript based modern front end technologies and object oriented design principles
* Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with angular 2+ or similar frameworks and modern design patterns
* Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
* Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
* Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
