    Senior Data Engineer: Python, Azure, Databricks, SQL

    Senior Data Engineer required to take on a pivotal role in the enhancement of a new Azure Databricks platform. Your role will be to help further develop and optimise the company's cloud capabilities across all functions of the business.

    We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer who is well-versed in Python programming and Databricks. You will also have experience implementing Azure Data Solutions. For this role, you will be working closely with a team of data engineers and data scientists to build robust data pipelines to help operationalise the team's applications. You will report into IT to ensure consistency across technical solutions and infrastructure.


    * Implementation of custom data pipelines using Python

    * Design & develop data solutions within an Azure Databricks environment

    * Collaborate with Data Architects, Project Managers & Data Engineers to build scalable data pipelines

    * Work in a DevOps environment

    * Ability to engage with all levels of the business and work in cross-functional teams


    * Expert use of Python

    * Extensive experience on a Databricks platform

    * Strong knowledge of Azure cloud data services using technologies such as Databricks & ADF

    * Proven background developing ADF, ELT/ETL data pipelines

    Senior Engineer for Landing Zone, Security & networking - Up to £675 p/d

    3 month contract - Inside IR35 - Start date ASAP

    1 day per week in SE1 based office in London

    * Technical Lead in designing, building and configuring network and security components to interface with an existing Production Landing Zone hosted in AWS
    * Strong Networking, access management and Cloud security infrastructure knowledge is essential including knowledge of inspection VPC, specifically (IDP/IDS) cloud based firewall technology
    * Hands-on experience in design and delivery of systems based on AWS IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings, as well as exposure to different architecture models
    * DevOps skills for leading team and consulting the customer
    * Experience with CI/CD-based environments (specifically ADO)
    * At least 3 years of cloud developing large-scale distributed cloud systems;
    * AWS deployment techniques CloudFormation, YAML, and code deployments
    * Proficiency scripting in multiple languages - JavaScript/Node.js, Java, Python
    * Own amendments of High-level Design and create Low Level design to very high quality. Creation of run books to support the ongoing 7x24 operation
    * Builds are to be compliance with defined security standards and leverage Production Landing Zone.
    * Adherence to Change Controls and stringent technical governance as mandated on an Enterprise Financial environment
    * Demonstrates a positive attitude and confident approach in dealing with new challenges

    We are currently seeking a zOS System Hardware Consultant to ensure that all the Mainframe Processors are operated, maintained and constantly upgraded as technology advances.

    Job Title - zOS System Hardware Consultant
    Length of Contract - 10 Months
    Start Date - ASAP

    Role & Responsibilities

    * Supporting and maintaining the UK Mainframe Processor estate within a multi-LPAR, multi-site Sysplex environment
    * Upgrading the UK Mainframe estate to the next generation of IBM Processor
    * Upgrading the Microcode levels on the Mainframe Processors, Coupling Facilities, HMCs and TKEs
    * Building and activating IODF/IOCDS configurations in support of changes to the Storage estate and other key projects
    * Update PR/SM definitions via HMC

    Skills & Qualifications

    * Must have extensive experience of mainframe hardware support and configuration. This is essential to the role
    * Must have knowledge of z/OS, HMC, HCD, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, CHPID Mapping tool, JES2
    * Must have knowledge of the latest IBMz processor generations z14, z15, z16
    * Must have Sysplex and Coupling Facility knowledge
    * Troubleshooting for day-to-day incidents and problems records.
    * Must have excellent problem determination skills and be a true team player.
    * You will be required to provide out-of-hours support for the implementation of hardware changes and support for other projects requiring hardware expertise

    Job Overview:

    The Systems Engineering function provides expertise to all projects through the bid and full development lifecycle. It ensures that both project and statutory requirements are met and works to improve the effectiveness of the systems design function within the company. It is responsible for the system architecture and integration of the solution. It is responsible for design for cost and design for manufacture.

    Required Skills:

    This position is focused on the requirements side of Systems Engineering, the left side of the V model.

    * Essential:

    * Degree in an engineering, mathematical or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
    * Significant experience and a full understanding of Systems Engineering, the V-Model and associated processes/lifecycles.
    * Significant experience of developing high quality requirements and establishing a fully compliant systems design.
    * Experience in writing high quality technical documentation and the formal technical review of such material.
    * Experience working as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and developing new areas of expertise as and when required.
    * Advanced knowledge of System Engineering practices, methodologies, processes, techniques and technology trends.
    * Experience of DOORS, UML, SEBoK, Enterprise Architect and SysML.
    * Experience of hands-on development of either hardware, software or firmware development, particularly in an embedded environment.
    * Act as work package owner to manage and deliver the agreed and required tasks on time and on budget
