Technical Project Manager Contract Role- Outside IR35- £400-450 a day - 6 Months

Role:

Jefferson Frank are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the software development team for a 6-month contract working on a new Agile project to develop the next generation of the clients digital forensics applications.

The Technical Project Manager will join the team focusing on the next generation of products. This is an opportunity to work on a product that saves lives and helps fight serious criminality.

Although it would be preferred the successful candidate to work out of the company offices in North Hertfordshire, it is possible for the role to be Fully Remote.

Key Responsibilities:

The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for the following activities:

* Create agile software development plans for rapid product development
* Track progress and gather metrics to forecast the delivery of software releases
* Help identify and minimise rework and feature creep
* Map dependencies for each product or project and alert teams if changes in one project are likely to have an effect on other projects
* Participate in roadmap and version planning
* Support Product Owners in the management of the product backlogs
* Support Scrum Masters in the removal of impediments and take measures to prevent delays
* Support Product Owners and Business Analysts with release planning
* Document and manage project risk
* Liaise with the PMO and stakeholders to communicate and coordinate
* Provide input to the software development process

Background/Key Experience:

Essentials

* At least 3 years as Project Manager on a commercial software cloud-based application
* Excellent knowledge of the scrum development process
* Previous experience in software development
* Experience of using a development workflow system such as DevOps, Jira, etc
* Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
* High standard of written and spoken English
* Motivated, self-reliant individual
* The successful candidate would be required to undergo security clearance to at least NPPV3+SC level

Desirables

* Certified Scrum Master or other agile certification
* Degree level qualification in a technology or science subject

Job Details:

* Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects
* Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
* Coordinate cross-project activities
* Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities
* Apply change, risk and resource management
* Assume responsibility for the program's people and vendors
* Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI
* Resolve projects' higher scope issues
* Prepare reports for program directors
* Provide direction on all project operations and activities such as the design, planning, schedule, project scope and project budget
* Manage and ensure completion of assigned upgrading / Additional & Alteration (A&A) works in accordance to the client's expectation within the timeline and budget
* Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure that required work is satisfactorily performed and completed by consultants.
* Monitors and reports on all phases of planning and construction
* Manage and monitor project fund which includes all payment to consultants, contractors, and authorities
* Any other ad-hoc assignments assigned by the Management.



Qualifications.
* Candidate must possess at least 10+ Yrs of Project Management experience.
* Minimum 3-5 cycles of ERP implementation experience, preferably 1-2 End-to-end implementation of IFS ERP
* Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
* Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage
* Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving ability
* Prior program management experience in life science domain is a plus.
