Overview:
We are seeking a Database Engineer to join our trading systems production engineering team. You would work alongside a team of DBAs, software developers, and production engineers to maintain reliable platforms for our trading systems. Responsibilities include administering SQL and NoSQL databases, managing reference data distribution, and troubleshooting system issues across multiple platforms. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to enhance and expand our database environment across 150+ servers.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the operation of 150+ database servers for various systems and users
* Managing ETL processes for core business needs and app-specific requirements
* Designing fault-tolerant database platforms for new applications
* Collaborating with teams to enhance and optimize systems continuously
* Resolving production incidents and ensuring data access for trading systems
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
* Proficient in managing MySQL/MariaDB databases on Linux
* Skilled in handling large databases with extensive rows and massive volumes of data
* Knowledgeable in various database systems like MongoDB, Oracle, Postgres, and Microsoft SQL Server
* Experienced in working with Linux and Windows operating systems
* Capable of adapting to and managing older code bases
* Hands-on expertise in SQL development, shell scripting, and Python
* Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica is advantageous
* Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Perforce, GitLab, TeamCity, Jenkins, or Ansible is a valuable asset
