Test Automation Engineer - 75.000€ - Grow into QA Manager

Belgium, Flemish Brabant, Leuven

  • €65,000 to €75,000 EUR
  • Engineer Role
  • Skills: Test Automation, Quality Assurance, Unit Testing, Frontend Testing
  • Seniority: Mid-level

Job description

Test Automation Engineer

BioTech

Product Development - SaaS

Flemish Brabant

65.000€ - 75.000€

How do you define sexy?

For us, making a positive impact through our work is sexy. In a product development organization in the Flemish Brabant, there is a team of visionary developers who is developing a data management platform addressed to those professionals whose work is to cure cancer and treat genetic diseases. How do they do that exactly? By creating a software solution that assists them in managing and analysing the already complex production processes these therapies require.

We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer who will set-up the Test Automation strategy and write the scripts side-by-side with the CTO and the dev team. In this position, as you'll be the first Tester, you'll have the opportunity to become the QA Manager and build a QA team around you. Your tasks in the beginning will include end-to-end testing, as well as perhaps the frontend testing. The ideal candidate is an advocate of test-driven development and has experience with:

* Test Automation! We're not looking for a specific tool from you, but we use Cypress for end-to-end testing / integration testing. If you don't work with Cypress but with another similar tool, we're happy to see you.
* Experience withbackend andfrontend unit testing is a great plus! Any unit testing experience would yield a match. An indication of our current stack:

* For frontend unit testing, we're using Karma and Jasmine, but Mocha would also be welcome from your side.
* For backend unit testing, we're using Pytest.

* Fluency in English and an Academic Degree.
* Energy, perseverance, and an antifragile character!

Important:

1 We're not looking for specific years of experience, the role is open to all seniority levels.
2 We're not looking for unicorns who have experience with all our tools. Mindset and potential are equally important.

On top of the technical skills, the ideal candidate enjoys a stimulating working environment, is highly motivated, and aspires to become a key-player in the growth of the company, which is guaranteed that will result to his/her personal growth to a Manager.

The role offers:

In-house work, flexible hours and 3-4 remote work days per week. And of course, a competitive salary (usually up to a range of 3700 - 5200 tailored to your seniority level,) and several benefits (all the standards in Belgium, such as net allowance, health & group insurance, mobility allowance or a company car with a flexible income plan arrangement, internet, meal vouchers etc). If you don't need a company car, you can still get the mobility allowance on top of your gross salary, or use it to pay your mortgage or rent.

Few details about the product

This product development house provides a platform that assists bio-tech organizations with managing process data efficiently. It is a modular Software as a Service for organizations that specialize in biomanufacturing and have lots of data on their plate. Their platform is designed in such a way to help organizations achieve an agile digitisation with increased data integrity and automation. Think about it as the back office of every company. Once the data are collected and structured, the software offers extensive possibilities like, among others, automated reporting, predictive analytics and process comparison.

Interview Process

Fast and easy, you reach out to me, Pavlos Diamantopoulos at p.diamantopoulos@jeffersonfrank.com, and I bring you in touch with the CEO & CTO (Tech Lead) for a video interview. If positive, you visit them one time at the office to discuss numbers and meet the team. Starting date is flexible, so, if you're interested, I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

There will be a full testing team that will support you in all your new challenges and will always be there to help and collaborate with you. They are open to consider people who can bring new ideas on the table too; people who want to voice their opinion..

The most important is to have the right mindset, ambition and to enjoy what the company is doing. They want active contributors to join a modern environment with the latest tech-stack and the experience needed is at least 2 years.

The right person will be able to demonstrate

* At least 2 years of hands on experience a relevant position.
* Familiarity with Automation tools and frameworks (for the Automation Engineers)
* Experience working in Agile methodology.
* Result driven, positive and collaborative mindset.
* Fluency in Dutch
* Willingness to be part of a pioneer of the industry.
* Willingness to be part of a young and collaborative team.
* Trustful and honest character who wants to actively contribute to what the company is doing.
* Genuine interest in the company and their sector.

Seniority level comes last, so the soft skills are very important. The company is hiring the attitude/character and they train the skills, as they are saying.

What you should expect

* Base salary of €3,500 - 4,500 / month, tailored to your level of experience. There is room for discussion.
* Bonus allowance
* Vacation allowance
* Training budget. Both in hard skills and soft skills.
* Flexible work hours.
* Individual coaching.
* 32 days of holidays.
* All standard benefits in Belgium, including a company car and a fuel card.
* 3 days remote/week even after Covid. If you prefer to have less remote , this is also an option of course.
* Frequent performance evaluations and growth opportunities within the company.
* Flat culture/structure, no micromanagement and open communication is the core of their business.
* A company that will put value and support you on a personal level, being there for you if needed. It may sound like a cliché, but there is family-like atmosphere where they take good care of their people, in every aspect.
