Data Platform Engineer

Sweden, Stockholm

  • Negotiable
  • Engineer Role
  • Skills: Azure Databricks, DBT, Python, SQL, Hands-on Platform experience
  • Seniority: Mid-level

Job description

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build and scale a cloud-based data platform in a highly regulated environment.

The organisation is partway through its migration to Azure, with production workloads already in place. The focus now is not strategy or architecture it's execution: building reliable, production-grade data platforms that will underpin future data and AI capabilities.

This role is for engineers who have actually built platforms within azure databricks, not just contributed to them or designed them at a high level.

You will be working in a low-risk environment, where data security, governance, and cost control are critical. The expectation is that you can deliver within those constraints, not work around them.

Responsibilities

* Building and operating Azure Databricks-based data platforms used in production
* Developing end-to-end data pipelines using Python and SQL
* Configuring and optimising Databricks environments, including:

* Cluster setup, tuning, and troubleshooting
* Job orchestration and scheduling
* Managing performance vs cost trade-offs

* Implementing data transformation and modelling workflows (dbt or similar)
* Owning platform components from initial build through to production support
* Ensuring data platforms meet strict security, governance, and risk requirements
* Contributing to ongoing cloud migration and platform modernisation work

Required Experience

* Strong, hands-on experience building Azure Databricks data platforms from scratch
* Proven track record delivering and supporting production-grade data pipelines
* Solid experience with:

* Azure
* Azure Databricks
* Python
* SQL

* Experience working with data at scale (not just small or isolated datasets)
* Background in regulated or enterprise environments with governance constraints
* Comfortable working in cost-sensitive environments where efficiency matters

Nice to Have

* Hands-on experience with dbt in production
* Experience in financial services or similar regulated industries
* Exposure to cloud migration programmes
* Experience optimising Databricks for performance and cost

Why This Role

* Opportunity to build real, production data platforms, not just prototypes
* Direct impact on a platform that will enable future AI and data capabilities
* Work in an environment where engineering quality, security, and reliability actually matter
* Join a team that values delivery over theory

Job description

How could YOU make an impact on some of the biggest skyline projects in the world?

I'm currently speaking with a globally-established company, and they're looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead 3 separate Data Engineering teams.

This role is significant to making an impact on covering over 1,100 operations that have delivered some of the most iconic and complex structures across the globe. Job description

Python Web Scraping Engineer - Fully Remote - £70k

Please note - to be eligible for this role you must be UK-based with the unrestricted right to work in the UK. This organisation does not offer sponsorship.

My client is hiring a Senior Python Scraping Engineer to design, build, and operate high‑volume, highly resilient web scraping systems, with a specific and sustained focus on scraping Google at scale.

This is a specialist role. It is not suited to generalist data engineers who have only worked on light or opportunistic scraping. You will be working in hostile, rapidly changing environments where naïve techniques fail and deep expertise in bot detection and evasion is essential.

The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, reverse engineering, and large‑scale systems reliability, and plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and trusted data.

My client is a leader in adopting AI‑assisted and agentic coding practices, and this role is ideal for engineers who actively use AI tools to improve productivity, reasoning, and system design.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and operate large‑scale scraping systems handling 10+ million requests per day, primarily targeting Google and Google‑like platforms
* Build robust scrapers for dynamic, JavaScript‑heavy environments using browser automation and hybrid approaches
* Continuously adapt to changes in markup, request flows, ranking logic, and anti‑automation mechanisms
* Engineer extraction pipelines with a strong emphasis on correctness, consistency, and observability
* Implement and maintain advancedanti‑bot evasion strategies, including:

* Proxy and request routing strategies
* Browser and headless fingerprinting
* CAPTCHA handling and mitigation

* Monitor system health, detect anomalies early, and debug complex production issues
* Optimise performance, cost, and latency across large‑scale scraping infrastructure
* Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and product teams to ensure scraped data is reliable and usable
* Produce clear documentation and operational runbooks to support long‑term maintainability

Required Technical skills:

* Expert‑level web scraping skills using Python
* Direct, hands‑on experience scraping Google at scale - this is essential
* Deep understanding of:

* Anti‑bot and bot‑detection systems
* Browser and network fingerprinting
* CAPTCHA systems and mitigation techniques
* Scaling scraping infrastructure reliably

* Strong knowledge of HTTP, TLS, cookies, headers, redirects, and browser networking behaviour
* Experience with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, or equivalent frameworks
* Comfortable designing asynchronous and concurrent scraping architectures
* Proven experience running scraping systems at scale in cloud environments
* Excellent debugging skills and the ability to reason about complex failure modes
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical behaviour

Azure Data Architect / Engineer (Azure & Fabric)

Finland

  • Negotiable
  • Engineer Role
  • Skills: Azure, Databricks, Fabric
  • Seniority: Senior

Job description

Overview

We're working with a client looking for a strong Azure Data Architect / Engineer to help shape and build out their data platform.

It's a mix of hands-on engineering and higher-level design, with a big focus on modern tooling across Azure and Microsoft Fabric. They're moving towards a more unified, lakehouse-style setup, so it's a good opportunity to work on something fairly greenfield rather than just maintaining legacy pipelines.

What you'll be doing

* Designing and building data pipelines across Azure and Fabric
* Working on lakehouse architecture (Fabric / Data Lake)
* Getting involved in data modelling for reporting and analytics
* Helping move existing solutions into a more modern Azure/Fabric setup
* Working closely with analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements
* Keeping an eye on performance, cost, and general optimisation
* Inputting into architecture decisions (especially if you're more senior)

What they're looking for

* Solid experience across Azure data services (ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL)
* Some exposure to or interest in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, pipelines, warehouse, etc.)
* Strong SQL and data modelling fundamentals
* Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines end-to-end
* Python and/or Spark (Databricks or Fabric) is a big plus
* Comfortable working in a fairly collaborative, non-siloed environment

If interested, please reach out.
