The Role

As a Lead Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining a modern enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric, working within a wider Azure data environment. You'll design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Fabric, Python and PySpark, while mentoring the existing BI team and helping shape best practice across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain the enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric.
* Design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Fabric, Python and PySpark.
* Develop and maintain data solutions within a modern Azure cloud environment.
* Ensure data quality, security, reliability, and performance across the platform.
* Mentor and upskill the BI team across Python, Spark and Microsoft Fabric.

Key requirements:

* Strong data engineering and cloud architecture expertise, with experience mentoring and upskilling technical teams

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Architect to take ownership of the technical strategy and architecture for a major national-scale data andanalytics transformation programme.This position represents the highest level of technical authority within the delivery organisation and will be responsible for shaping the long-term architectural direction of a modern cloud-based data platform.
