Job description

Jefferson Frank are an international agency that has grown to be one of the trusted recruitment partners to businesses across Sweden in different industries and domains. To learn more about this opportunity, reach out to George Paxton on LinkedIn who is responsible for this advert. You can also reach him at

The Company:

Jefferson Frank are working with a reactive and forward thinking company that have already established themselves on the international stage which has their main office based in Stockholm. Originally focusing on serving individual customers (personal bank accounts) they achieved varying success. This client now targets more of a corporate market with a greater emphasis on B2B operations. This switch proved to be pivotal and has resulted in impressive success. So much they now have turned over £5 million in revenue, serve 65'000 customers internationally and have doubled revenue year-on-year for the third year running. All of this has resulted in the company growing 500, 700 and 1100% in the last 3 years. As a result they are now on a mission to secure the regions best talent as they look to capitalise on this growth and consolidate themselves as a leader in their respective markets.

Their service allows customers to pay ANY invoice with a credit card, making it an efficient operation for all parties. Furthermore, they charge around 3% for their services making them cheaper than factoring or loaning from a bank. In addition to this customers earn points which can offer a range of benefits in return. What's made this client so successful is that they sell flexibility, companies receivng payment from their service do not have to be previously enrolled for payments to be processed, this means both parties benefit from the practicality and ease of transactions going through instead of more modern concerns of which traders accept various forms of debit and credit payment methods. A common frustration seen by developers is that they work in a role where the development team is secondary to the product itself. This is not the case here with business requirements only being agreed once the technical managers and their teams have been consulted on whether these functions and services make sense from an infrastructural point of view.

The Role:

This is a traditional and heavily infrastructure based role. This client is in the process of splitting their development team so they are more efficiently structured for growth in the future with teams taking responsibility for specific applications. In this role the candidate will be working on a mix of new development and performance related improvements. You'll be expected to provide input onto how the system is built up and functions so strong knowledge of OOP is essential. Your priorities will including building scalable and sustainable, high-quality solutions for their microservices architecture. Cloud experience is not an essential requirement however an understanding of how the microservices architecture is formulated and deployed through GCP.

You'll be building REST API's, connecting modules and features to the architecture and corresponding databases (MongoDB). Due to the new customers which are being onboarded ar a monthly rate, you will be working on making performance related improvements to the full system. Although not essential, previous experience working with Fintech roles and/or companies will be preferred to provide context and analytical insight to the rest of the team when working on projects and tasks.

Essential Requirements:

* 1 year experience working with Node.js
* Minimum 4 years experience working with backend development
* Strong understanding/experience with microservices architectures

Preferable Requirements:

* Strong passion for working with Fintech
* Experience with cloud services for data storage and deployment (Google Cloud Platform)

In return, you'll be joining a rapidly expanding company that has unlimited potential with what is possible in the coming years. Now in significant growth phase, their product is growing in popularity and as a result they're investing heavily in this and marketing to capitalise in the lack of activity within their domain. You'll be joining a company that operates on a flat hierarchy meaning that every employee has the opportunity to add value and their voice can be heard. Furthermore, openness is one of their core values which is reflected in their practices. Alongside your salary, you'll receive a range of benefits including the ITP1 pension, wellness allowance, health insurance and 30 days holiday.

To apply for this position, send your CV via this portal or email it to Alternatively, you can reach out to George Paxton on LinkedIn to learn more regarding this position or others which are available at Jefferson Frank.
