The Position: Our client a FinTech company based in London are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Architect whose responsibility will be to develop, optimize and oversee our company's conceptual and logical data systems.

Whether it be ETL, migrations, pipelines or analysis, you will play a key role in designing the data models, strategy and processes to expand and extend the AFSL data foundations


Responsibilities:

* Evaluate the current state of the company's databases and other data systems and identify new solutions to increase efficiency and performance
* Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
* Research new technologies, data modelling methods and information management systems to determine which ones should be incorporated into company data architectures
* Work with cross-functional teams to build new data platforms, pipelines and support their data needs
* Expand and deliver a BigData roadmap
* Provide insight and improvement around data governance, resilience and recovery

Skills & Qualifications:

* 3+ years of relevant data architecture experience
* Proficiency working with and designing relational and non-relational data models
* Knowledge of security best practice within AWS
* Architectural experience with an AWS production environment working with data warehousing managed services
* Ability to analyse data flows and provide insight around transformations, data quality and integrity
* Experience with Agile, scrum & cross-functional teams



Preferred but not essential:


* Relevant cloud certification
* Expertise in AWS ETL tools including Glue and Kinesis
* Expertise in analytical/ML tools including Sagemaker, Athena, QuickSight or PowerBI

Description
The Information Architect role will support a number of activities related to the integration of scientific data relating to Images and Omics data. We are looking for an Information Architect, with prior experience in life-sciences R&D, who can join our Science Data Foundation team and can support the delivery of integrated solutions.

Required skills:
- At least 5-8 years professional experience, with at least 3 years in Information/Solution Architect roles.
- Experience in developing conceptual and logical data models (third normal form).
- Experienced using ER/Studio Data Architect (preferred), Erwin or a similar data modelling tool.
- Understanding of Master Data, Reference Data and Metadata Management concepts (alternatively a DAMA Certified Data Professional)
- Understanding of the FAIR data principles and how these apply to the delivery of integrated solutions.
- Understanding of both SQL and NonSQL technologies
- Strong experience of working in Life-Sciences R&D domains, ideally within the Pharma industry.
- Exhibits strong soft skills typically required as an architect (i.e.: presentation and public speaking, negotiation, challenging the status quo)

Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience Imaging, MultiOmics domain solutions that is Oncology focused.
- Knowledge and understanding of Public ontologies widely used in Imaging and MultiOmics domain.
- Knowledge and understanding of Data/Metadata standards used in Imaging and MultiOmics domain (e.g DICOM, MINSEQE).
- Knowledge and conceptual understanding of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Technology
- Previous experience in an agile software development environment is a plus.

The position will work closely with Solution Architects, Product and Program Leads, Data Analysts and Data Governance leads to support the design of an integrated, FAIR solution for managing a range of scientific data sets.

This role is 100% remote and on a part-time basis. You can expect to work anywhere between 16-32hrs per week.

We are searching for a Solution Architect for a household name organisation, to embark on a large programme of work. We have scope for 2-3 years, with interviews for this taking place this week.



Skills:

* 10+ years' experience in Infrastructure Solution Architect role
* Hands-on experience in deploying, configuring and troubleshooting software or networking equipment (like: Guardicore, VMware NSX ) - a must
* In-depth knowledge in four out of the five technologies: Networking, Virtualization, Micro segmentation, Active Directory, Operating System (Win+Lnx) - a must
* Expertise in design of Active Directory, ADFS architecture and Integration of core infrastructure technologies.
* Strong on VMware and On-Premise solutions - a must
* Good knowledge and understanding of Linux architecture & integration with Active Directory
* Hands-on experience with the following is an advantage: Config management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.)
* Identifying and defining system security requirements. Designing computer security architecture and developing detailed cyber security designs
* Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
* Network security experience
* Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an experience of collaborating with a remote/global team
* Work closely with members of Support and Engineering teams to quickly resolve any client issues
* Experience in TOGAF, Agile and DevOps are all advantages with experience in relevant consultancy and/or architecture roles and Experience in Enterprise IT Lifecycle Management
* Knowledge of Telco OSS Platforms
* Work with customer throughout a delivery project life cycle - project management, planning, architecture (including HLD, LLD etc.), deploying and configuring state of the art Segmentation platform
