Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Solutions Architect to design and govern secure, scalable, and resilient data solutions across modern cloud and analytics platforms. This role is technically led, with a strong emphasis on architecture assurance, security, and delivery within regulated or high‑risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Technical Architecture

* Design end‑to‑end data solutions spanning application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
* Define current‑state, target‑state, and transition architectures with phased migration roadmaps
* Translate functional and non‑functional requirements into robust, compliant solution designs
* Make and clearly articulate technology choices and architectural trade‑offs

Cloud & Data Platforms

* Design solutions on modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric)
* Apply distributed data processing patterns using Spark‑based technologies
* Align solutions to cloud landing‑zone and enterprise‑scale patterns, including identity and secure connectivity

Architecture Governance & Assurance

* Produce clear, auditable architecture artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, ADRs, options appraisals)
* Act as design authority on complex data programmes
* Support architecture governance forums including design reviews and Architecture Review Boards

Engineering & Delivery

* Work closely with engineers to ensure architecture translates into effective implementation
* Support build‑phase conformance and technical decision‑making
* Apply platform engineering principles including IaC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices

Integration & Security

* Design integrations using APIs, event‑driven, and service‑based patterns
* Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance, and availability requirements

Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement

* Engage confidently with client architects, engineers, security, and senior stakeholders
* Provide strong documentation, delivery reporting, and RAID support
* Enable knowledge transfer, capability uplift, and smooth exit or transition planning

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in technical or solution architecture across modern data platforms
* Strong background in secure and regulated environments
* Hands‑on experience with cloud, distributed processing, and integration patterns
* Excellent communication, documentation, and design‑authority skills

We are representing a well established consumer brand undergoing a major AI transformation initiative.

The organization is designing and standing up a next generation, AI ready data platform on AWS, with Snowflake at the core. They are looking for a professional who will take ownership of the platform as the external advisory engagement transitions, ultimately becoming the internal Data Platform Lead.

This is not a "ticket taking" data engineering role. This is a build, architect, and own mandate.

What You'll Be Doing:

Platform Ownership

*

Build and scale ingestion pipelines and core platform foundations
*

Own architecture, governance, reliability, and scalability
*

Enhance and mature the medallion architecture
*

Implement Snowpark based compute models

Engineering Execution

*

Develop within Snowflake (Snowpark, Snowpipe, streaming)
*

Leverage AWS core data and compute services
*

Drive transformations with dbt
*

Integrate marketing, retailer, Nielsen, and consumer behavior data sources
*

Use Fivetran for ingestion workflows
*

Manage infrastructure as code via Terraform
*

Maintain version control standards via GitHub

Strategic Impact

*

Translate business use cases into scalable platform components
*

Advise leadership on what should or should not be built, and why
*

Act as the internal SME across Snowflake and AWS data engineering
*

Partner with business stakeholders and product owners
*

Lead knowledge transfer and transition planning from consulting to in house

This individual will ultimately lead the internal data platform function and collaborate closely with a separate application engineering team.

* Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern infrastructure approaches.
* Ability to articulate AI, ML, and data mining concepts in a clear and compelling way.
* Experience in public sector or regulated industries (government, healthcare, etc.) is highly desirable.

I am working with my London Market broker client, a forward‑thinking organisation modernising how data flows across the insurance value chain. This role sits at the heart of a high-profile broker-side transformation, combining deep London Market expertise with modern data and emerging AI capabilities.

The Opportunity

My London Market broker client is undertaking a strategic data initiative to design a future-state broker data model and clearly define how data integrates across core market and internal systems. The work will directly underpin new digital and AI-enabled capabilities, enabling the broker to offer the London Market something genuinely new in terms of insight, automation, and decision-making.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring strong engagement with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and define a broker-centric canonical data model for the London Market
* Map and document data integration flows across broker platforms and market systems (e.g. policy, placement, claims, bordereaux)
* Work closely with business, underwriting, and placement stakeholders to align data structures with real-world broker processes
* Define clear data ownership, semantics, and quality standards
* Support integration patterns and architectural decisions across legacy and modern platforms
* Enable downstream AI and advanced analytics use cases by ensuring data is structured, accessible, and fit for purpose
* Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure the model is practical, implementable, and scalable

Required Experience

* Proven Data Architect experience within the London Market insurance ecosystem
* Strong understanding of broker operations and market interactions
* Hands-on experience creating enterprise or domain data models
* Experience defining data integration approaches across multiple systems
* Comfortable working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
* Able to translate between business requirements and technical design
