Contract Metadata Analyst - £600/day (Inside IR35)

Please note - this role is Inside IR35 and requires you to work on site in London two days per week. To be eligible for this role you must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. This organisation will not offer sponsorship.

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Metadata Analyst to join their team. This role is critical in driving metadata governance and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards. The successful candidate will work closely with data owners, stewards, and project managers to maintain and enhance metadata repositories and processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Own and maintain metadata management repositories.
* Ensure metadata adheres to policy standards.
* Collaborate with data owners and stewards to populate CDEs business metadata.
* Work with project managers to populate technical business metadata for MITBIT initiative.
* Establish and execute attestation and change management processes.
* Support documentation of data lineage where required.
* Assist in identifying long-term and interim metadata management tools.
* Promote standardisation, visibility, and corporate usage of metadata.
* Be hands-on in all aspects of metadata management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of business and technical metadata types.
* Significant experience in metadata management.
* Familiarity with formal and informal metadata management tools.
* Proficiency in data modelling and data profiling.
* Excellent documentation and stakeholder management skills.
* Financial Services experience preferred (not essential).

This role pays £600/pd (inside IR35) and will require you to work from the London office two days per week.

Key Responsibilities
Working with Digital and Business Stakeholders
* Identify issues within current business processes.
* Redesign end‑to‑end processes and ways of working.
* Develop digital solutions that reduce friction and improve efficiency.

Working with Business SMEs
* Define user stories, product features, and detailed business logic.
* Build SME relationships and secure buy‑in to support product adoption.

Supporting Product Sprint Teams
* Provide clear requirements for product features.
* Support data gathering and early prototype development.
* Ensure the product continues to deliver value as it evolves.
* Analyse customer and user feedback to inform product improvements.
* Influence product design to maintain value focus.

Skills and Experience
* Experience working with SMEs and end‑users to gather, refine, and articulate product requirements.
* Skilled in stakeholder interviews, workshop facilitation, and synthesising insights.
* Ability to communicate product and design needs within fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to simplify complex information.

Interpersonal Skills
* Able to work across multiple workstreams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Confident in identifying overlaps or gaps across portfolios.
* Passionate about digital transformation and effective business change.

Technical Expertise
* Experience delivering business change within major transformation programmes.
* Familiarity with SAFe, NG Change BMS, and the CDF framework.
* Experience working within agile delivery environments.
* Strong stakeholder engagement around programme and project benefits

Data Mapping Engineer - UK Based (Security Clearance Required)

We are seeking an experienced Data Mapping Engineer to design and implement robust data mapping solutions across diverse systems and formats. This role involves working with structured and semi-structured data, ensuring accurate transformation and integration, and supporting broader data migration efforts. Candidates must have hands-on experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management software and meet UK security clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse and interpret source and target data structures (e.g., databases, XML, JSON, CSV, EDI)
* Define and document data mappings, transformation logic, and integration rules
* Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure semantic consistency
* Validate mapping outputs and resolve data discrepancies
* Ensure compliance with data quality, privacy, and security standards
* Maintain documentation and metadata for traceability and governance
* Support knowledge sharing and contribute to best practices within the team

Essential Requirements:
* UK national with at least five years of residency (required for security clearance)
* Proven experience in data modelling at conceptual and logical levels
* Background in data mapping, transformation, or integration (e.g., technical business analyst or data analyst)
* Proficiency in working with data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, EDI, XLSX
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Fluent in English

Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with ETL tools or data integration platforms (e.g., IBM DataStage, Palantir)
* Experience with documentation tools and specifications (e.g., Excel-based mapping documents, BPMN, UML)
* Proficiency in XML tooling, XSLT, and DataStage Designer
* Experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management software

We're looking for a Data engineering team lead who combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership skills to mentor a talented team and deliver exceptional solutions for our clients.



What You'll Do

* Lead and mentor a team of Technical Consultants, driving engagement, growth, and alignment with our culture.
* Oversee resource planning, scheduling, and performance management.
* Collaborate with Pre-sales, Commercial, and Project Management teams to scope and deliver projects.
* Ensure consistent delivery of technical solutions aligned with best practices and standards.
* Support technical delivery when needed, including designing scalable data solutions in Microsoft/Azure environments.

What We're Looking For

* Hands-on Data Engineering experience (not Data Analyst or Data Scientist roles).
* Strong background in Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
* Expertise in ETL/ELT development using SQL and Python.
* Experience implementing data lakes and medallion lakehouse architecture.
* Skilled in managing large datasets and writing advanced SQL/Python queries.
* Solid understanding of BI and data warehousing concepts.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
* Ideally, experience in consulting environments and working within high-performing teams.
