    Development Team Lead (Fully Remote)

    Up to £65k DOE

    A well-established, global provider of telecoms, payments, and mobile solutions is looking to on-board an accomplished C++ Developer / Development Team Leader (from a C++ background) on a permanent basis.

    Reporting to the Head of Development you will be intrinsically involved in all stages of the SDLC for new products, fixing any bugs with existing solutions and be centrally involved for the future strategy and delivery of technology solutions utilising their existing platforms whilst using some of the latest technologies.

    This a leadership role, however, will remain hands on.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Be involved with the delivery of new development projects from analysis to release
    * Working closely with Head of Development, Product Owners and Stakeholders to produce accurate delivery estimates and offer advice in managing the transition from analysis to delivery
    * Guide development team efforts towards successful product delivery
    * Effect any necessary maintenance or bug fixes to existing solutions
    * Take part in (or lead) reviews / meetings and update on project progress
    * Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of existing and new systems
    * Leading a small team of developers in achieving our shared goals.

    Requirements

    * Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
    * Expert programming within C++ (mostly 98, some 11)
    * Solid knowledge of developing within Microsoft / Linux based environments
    * Good knowledge of Development Design Patterns
    * Previous people management experience (including remote teams, outsourced development) with the ability to lead and influence others
    * Experience with source control management system and CI/CD environments
    * Experience with automated testing
    * Experience with agile development methodologies - Scrum, Kanban
    * Experience with high performance computing applications, libraries, multi-threading, or parallel programming.
    * Solid experience in the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful API's
    * Excellent Testing and Debugging capabilities
    * Self-driven, independent problem solver, technically versatile, willing to be flexible and accept new challenges.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Handle Infrastructure as code, contributing to making our infrastructure fully automated, simple, reliable, and easy to operate

    * Develop and implement systems that aid and facilitate our rapid growth including the implementation of deployment policies, future procedures, configuration management and planning for capacity upgrades

    Proven experience:

    * 3+ years' experience in DevOps/Software Configuration Management role
    * Managing the cloud infrastructure as code, using either CloudFormation or Terraform.
    * Maintaining highly available and performant environments.
    * Excellent Linux experience, and experience in at least one of the following tools: Puppet, Chef or Ansible
    * Managing and deploying AWS Load Balancers, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, S3.
    * Managing and deploying Serverless applications: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB
    * Working knowledge Docker containers, Kubernetes, AWS ECS
    * Networking, network security and have a deep knowledge of TCP/IP

    The Role

    My client is looking for someone with the right mindset to come in and build an Automation Test Framework for the business. They are currently migrating legacy code to AWS and would like this framework built simultaneously.

    The Test Automation SME will work alongside 1 or 2 developers within an agile team environment. You will ensure automated testing activities are established and the required supporting technology and CI/CD infrastructure is in place.

    Key aspects of this role will include defining, creating, reviewing, executing and maintaining automated tests on a range of in-house and 3rd Party applications across different platforms including the public clouds.

    You will also assist with setting the overall test automation strategy and with the resolution of reported bugs where appropriate.

    Success in this role will involve a proactive, flexible and inquisitive approach, alongside a desire to work in a highly collaborative team environment.

    Responsibilities
    * Creating, diagnosing, executing and maintaining automated scenarios for all aspects of the system
    * Providing technical implementations for UI, System, integration and performance testing.
    * Developing API test standards, approaches and mocking
    * Working closely with the Development team to ensure testing is appropriate, complete and timely
    * Working closely with the dev-ops team to establish fully automated testing within an enhanced CI/CD framework
    * Establishing the usage of public clouds (AWS + others) for automated performance testing at scale.
    * Producing appropriate documentation of tests and results. Contributing to daily stand-up meetings and sprint planning.

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills
