Role & Responsibilities

* Work on some of the most bleeding edge cloud-native architectures in development today.
* Take end-to-end ownership of shaping solutions & defining the right architectural approach.

* Collaborate closely with our engineering teams to ensure our solutions are built to reflect your solution vision and make the best use of current development practices.

Skills & Qualifications

* Excellent knowledge of exploiting at least one major Cloud platform (pref. AWS) for delivery of cloud-native solutions.
* A self-motivated desire to continually learn and improve.
* A strong background in Java and core open source technologies and frameworks; experience of building scalable, resilient and secured applications.
* Exposure to and some experience of working with structured architecture approaches (e.g. TOGAF).
* Experience of working in collaborative teams.

* Experience of Agile / Scrum methodology.

* Working with distributed, off-shore delivery teams.
* Microservice-based architectures using domain driven design (DDD) , CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns.
* Containerisation technologies: Docker or Kubernetes.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

* Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, deploy and support enterprise-level Appian BPM workflow applications.
* Design and implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies including LDAP, Active Directory and other internal systems in the enterprise
* Design and develop database objects to support BPM applications and maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems
* Working in an Agile or Waterfall software development methodology, as the project dictates
* Working as part of a larger development team helping to conduct and participate in detailed design reviews and validate that the design follows the approved architecture
* Translating BPM requirement specifications into Appian process model prototypes and solutions

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

* Good knowledge and experience of Appian solutions and models
* Extensive knowledge of working with distributed infrastructure systems and client-server architectures
* JAVA/Springboot
* Relational databases and SQL scripting
* API integration

Desirable experience

* Agile Framework.
* JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Sonar, Docker

Gaming Industry - Remote - 55K Base

We are an interactive learning company, with the mission of making education fun! Having started our journey through a series of print products, many of which became best sellers. We have since transitioned to the Educational Tech space (Ed-Tech), where we are currently edifying the gaming industry through a series of exciting games.

We recently partnered with Roblox to help build an educational game that'll be setup within schools on a global scale! We are now looking for a UI/UX designer to help make this dream a reality and to help build out the UI for a truly fantastic user experience.

You will help design, wireframe and implement the UI based on our current concept, while working with the wider creative team to integrate our trademark style into your work. Working with multiple points within the team to help deliver the project, but also with our QA team to test the UI/UX and help identify and mitigate critical bugs as they arise.

Experience we are looking for:

* 2 years UI/UX Designer experience
* Experience with design tools such as Figma or Adobe Suite

Nice to haves:

* Gaming industry experience (This is not essential though!)

* Developing alerting, monitoring and incident management practices and the tools that support them using modern SRE principles
* Building upon our DevOps culture across the Product and Engineering organisations, sharing modern practices and always challenging the status quo.
* Providing support and guidance to the development team in areas such as onboarding, CI/CD, investigating platform issues etc.

The Senior R&D Engineer is responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Senior R&D Engineer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

* Participates in planning, architecture, and research
* Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make a profound impact architecting and designing cloud native solutions and serverless architectures. I am working with an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Partner and have been awarded the AWS ML Partner of the Year 2020, we are extremely well-positioned at the forefront of this fast-paced cutting-edge technology space.

The Role:

* Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their motivations behind projects and own technical activities to ensure the required business value is delivered. Acting as the technical authority and escalation point for AWS technical issues and decisions.



* Translate business requirements (both functional and non-functional) into a solution, ensuring compliance with the organisations strategy, policies and standards and in some cases, help customers to define new policies, principles and standards.



* With Data Engineers define for our client's data pipelines and data lakes, covering the ingression, ETL or ELT, and the cataloging of data. Insuring that compliance, regulatory, retention, backup and security requirements are taken into account.



* Provide solutions that have operational excellence built in from the ground up, including high availability, elastic scaling, disaster recovery, centralise logging, monitoring, alerting, change control and cost tracking + optimisation. Allowing for easy transition of solutions from implementation to production, owning the hand over to either a client or our in-house Service Management teams.



* Assist in all aspect of the engagement life cycle, supporting the Pre-Sales, Sales, and Delivery functions of the business. This includes strong communications skills and the production of excellent technical designs and documents to potential and existing clients. Showing a willingness to meet clients and go the extra mile when required



Essential Experience:

* Proven AWS design, implementation and support experience
* Excellent document production skills - design documents and architecture diagrams
* Background in application development and experience in at least one high level programming language (ideally Java, Python or Node JS).
* Strong Agile experience.
* In depth knowledge in: o AWS network services (AWS VPC, Subnetting, Security Groups, and Routing)

o AWS core services (EC2, RDS, S3, and ElastiCache)

o AWS serverless services (Lambda, API GW, SNS, SQS, and Dynamo DB)

* Ability to create high quality Cloud Formation or Teraform scripts, proven ability to use the AWS CL and GIT/SVN.
* Strong Unix and Bash knowledge.
* AWS Solution Architect, Associate Certification or at least 3 years' experience of AWS.



Desirable requirements:

* Knowledge and understanding of the Well Architected Framework including the Serverless Lens
* Understanding or some exposure to Data Lakes and Data Engineering with knowledge of AWS data lake services (Glue, Glue Catelog, RedShift, Athena, Kinesis).
* Developed solutions using AWS SAM or the Serverless Framework and defined APIs in Swagger.
* Understanding of continuous integration and delivery, with implementation in AWS Code* or Jenkins.
* Evidence of cross-vendor work as opposed to a candidate who wants to remain skilled in a single vendor's technologies
* Desire to interact closely with customers and build strong relationships
