    * Is a natural communicator, describing technical details to technical and non-technical colleagues
    * Is proactive in turning issues/problems into validated experiments, and implementation
    * Enjoys and has strong experience of coaching and mentoring less experienced team members

    * Is comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing and improving development environment
    * Is collaborative and can see the bigger picture at a systems level as well as the detail
    * Has 4-5 years' experience in DevOps or SRE based roles
    * Has experience of leading a team, being accountable, and the point of contact
    * Has demonstrated experience of monitoring, alerting and proactive issue mitigation
    * Has used major CI tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub, SonarCloud etc.
    * Has strong understanding of AWS specifically Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudTrail
    * Has strong understanding of debugging, performance, scaling, resiliency
    * Has implemented and tested disaster recovery scenarios
    * Has AWS certifications in relevant subjects

    What will you be doing?

    * Evolving our CI/CD tooling and pipelines for continuous development - we have recently moved some of our pipelines to GitHub Actions
    * Managing/mentoring junior engineers
    * Developing alerting, monitoring and incident management practices and the tools that support them using modern SRE principles
    * Building upon our DevOps culture across the Product and Engineering organisations, sharing modern practices and always challenging the status quo.
    * Providing support and guidance to the development team in areas such as onboarding, CI/CD, investigating platform issues etc.
    * Helping automate our cloud infrastructure in AWS using modern Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation



    Our tech stack

    * We use Node.js with Typescript deployed on AWS Lambda, Mongo Atlas and React on the front end.
    * Terraform, Ansible, Bash, shell scripts, docker and Serverless framework should all be familiar too.

    Salary £40,000 to £60,000 DOE

    My client are one of the biggest names in technology and modern cloud consulting, they boast a world class data and analytics centre and are looking to add to their team. They provide a wide range of cutting edge data and analytics solutions to the Public Sector to revolutionise the UK Government's data platform and maximise insight, accesibility, revenues, reduce fraud etc - they key lifeblood of the Public Sector.

    You will work in an Agile team collaborting closely with Architects, Product Managers and Solution Architects.

    Experience Required:

    * Technical expertise with tools like: SAS Analytics, Base, SAS DM Studio, SAS Decision manager, SAS DI server, SAS DI Studio, SAS Enterprise guide, SAS Fraud framework, SAS Information maps, SAS Model manager, SAS Platform administration, SAS Programming, SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Visual Investigator, SAS Visual text analytics, SAS Visual mining and machine learning. SAS Viya, SAS Web reporting and dashboard.
    * Experience as a software engineer delivering within large scale and complex 'big data' and data analytics solutions.

    * You will be working in an agile delivery team within an agile scrum framework.
    * Work across various software engineering principles including requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, development, testing, implementation and support.
    * Contribute to various teams providing ideas and innovation/process recommendations, help mentor other team members, strong information sharing culture.

    As a Senior Engineer, you will work as part of an agile development team, helping to build secure and resilient application infrastructure providing an outstanding experience for our customers and engineering teams.



    What you'll do

    * Design and build industry leading cloud-based infrastructure on AWS
    * Using modern DevOps practices, create and manage secure, low maintenance environments in cloud
    * Create and maintain development tools to enable effective and efficient CI/CD pipelines
    * Help shape and grow cloud estate, with no legacy systems to support
    * Automate and improve development and release process
    * Support release and production environment where necessary
    * Coach and support other team members in DevOps technology and procedures



    What we are looking for

    * Strong experience with Cloud infrastructure on AWS
    * Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK
    * Experience with CI/CD pipelines such Bitbucket/AWS Code Pipelines
    * Exposure to application development using TypeScript or Java
    * Good understanding of Cloud design patterns and have used them solve to complex problems
    * Experience in coaching and mentoring other members in the team

    The Senior R&D Engineer is responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Senior R&D Engineer will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    * Participates in planning, architecture, and research
    * Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research
    * Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
    * Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions

    Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

    * Commercial experience with one or both of the following:

    * Angular 10+ with typescript and websockets
    * Design pattern expertise: Factory, Singleton, Observer etc
    * Web 3D CAD rendering using interfaces such as WebGL, ThreeJS
    * WebGL Shader programming and debugging experience
    * Clear understanding of promise based REST API consumption

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills

    * Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with

    * Typescript, Angular 10+
    * Application of computational geometry algorithms
    * OpenGL CAD rendering/Remote rendering (nice to have)
    * Simulation/Engineering background (nice to have)

    * Passion for crafting robust and efficient code with a focus on extensibility

    We are searching for experienced AWS Infrastructure Automation Engineers to work as part of our
    software delivery teams.
    As an AWS Infrastructure Automation Engineer you will be joining a software delivery team of 5-6
    cross functional engineers. An essential part of the role is to ensure collaboration with the team
    when it comes to infrastructure.
    The successful candidate will have proven experience in building, managing and supporting
    multiple highly available environments in a repeatable and sustainable manner.

    * Work with the development team to understand the software architecture

    * Experience of Scrum is advantageous
    * Effective communicator at all levels
    * An understanding of modern git techniques would be advantageous
