    Developers will be responsible for the delivery of projects in an Agile way according to Functional and None Functional Requirements Specifications. You will be involved in technical leadership within a team to co-ordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with good industry software engineering practices (code quality, CI/CD, OWASP, TDD, SOLID, DRY etc).

    You will take technical ownership for a product or software components, covering design, estimation, shaping and functional/non-functional requirements. This will involved design, developing and maintaining cloud-based software applications using Java and associated frameworks (e.g., Spring, Groovy, Jersey, JUnit, Guava, Hibernate etc).

    * Experience in developing RESTful microservice architectures.
    * Experience in developing on Public Cloud such as AWS or Azure
    * Experience in delivering software using Agile.
    * Collaborate and liaise with other eam members, customer stakeholders and end-users during the development lifecycle - e.g., PMs, BAs, Tester, Product, Platform etc
    * Clearly communicate technical designs in conversation, documentation, and presentations to stakeholders of various technical abilities.
    * Provide effective knowledge transfer to team members and customers.

    You'll have an existing skillset from a range of backgrounds in legacy BI platforms (SQL Server, SAS, Teradata etc.) but also have current experience in architecting Cloud Data Platform solutions across any of the main vendors - Azure, AWS or GCP, with a preference for Azure.

    You'll be responsible for end-to-end solution architecture, including translating business requirements, solution design (Cloud, on-premise or Hybrid), Data Modeling, Data Ingestion (including Event-Based data) and Security considerations.

    You will be based a mixture of at home, on site or in office depending upon client preferences and safety considerations, so candidates should be commutable to the company's offices in either London or Edinburgh.

    Jefferson Frank are supporting a boutique software as a services company, who specialises in IA and Machine Learning to increase business revenue for major companies such as Nike, HP and French Connection.

    You'll be part of the Infrastructure Team, which is part of the wider Operations area, looking after the core environment that delivers a real time data solution to customers. The team is small so the daily work will be varied, expect lots of interactions with colleagues in Engineering, QA and Data. You will take responsibility for the security, availability and performance of the production infrastructure; managing the entire service lifecycle, for both existing and new product features, including the decommissioning of redundant technology as required.

    This is a transformational role at the heart of a technology change, which will underpin and assure the company's success in the future. They are looking for a talented SRE who believes in improving the legacy areas, putting forward new ideas and designing for the future.

    This role is 100% remote. Our client is opening a new state of the art office in Newcastle, which applicants should visit at least once a quarter. Please bare this in mind when applying.



    What experience is needed?

    A minimum of 2 years hands on experience within production environments.

    Knowledge of AWS services beyond the basics that will include; ECS, Kinesis, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB.

    Experience of Infrastructure as Code and Deployment Tools such as; CloudFormation, CircleCI, Octopus Deploy and AWS CodeDeploy.
    *

    In depth knowledge and experience of any Linux platform.

    Have a good understanding of scripting using either Bash or Powershell.
