Development Team Lead (Fully Remote)

Up to £65k DOE

A well-established, global provider of telecoms, payments, and mobile solutions is looking to on-board an accomplished C++ Developer / Development Team Leader (from a C++ background) on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Development you will be intrinsically involved in all stages of the SDLC for new products, fixing any bugs with existing solutions and be centrally involved for the future strategy and delivery of technology solutions utilising their existing platforms whilst using some of the latest technologies.

This a leadership role, however, will remain hands on.

Key Responsibilities

* Be involved with the delivery of new development projects from analysis to release
* Working closely with Head of Development, Product Owners and Stakeholders to produce accurate delivery estimates and offer advice in managing the transition from analysis to delivery
* Guide development team efforts towards successful product delivery
* Effect any necessary maintenance or bug fixes to existing solutions
* Take part in (or lead) reviews / meetings and update on project progress
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of existing and new systems
* Leading a small team of developers in achieving our shared goals.

Requirements

* Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
* Expert programming within C++ (mostly 98, some 11)
* Solid knowledge of developing within Microsoft / Linux based environments
* Good knowledge of Development Design Patterns
* Previous people management experience (including remote teams, outsourced development) with the ability to lead and influence others
* Experience with source control management system and CI/CD environments
* Experience with automated testing
* Experience with agile development methodologies - Scrum, Kanban
* Experience with high performance computing applications, libraries, multi-threading, or parallel programming.
* Solid experience in the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful API's
* Excellent Testing and Debugging capabilities
* Self-driven, independent problem solver, technically versatile, willing to be flexible and accept new challenges.

Python - this is number 1 requirement. Someone who has created APIs in Python using any one of the following methods:

AWS - Experience of having built at least 2 tier application (API & Database) using API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS or Serverless. Experience of these services would be a major advantage. By this we mean

* They understand how these services work, and how to write software to make best use of them.
* Some experience/exposure to infrastructure as code and how to deploy a 2 tier (API and Database) service on AWS using CI/CD (terraform, Cloud formation, CDK, Jenkins, GitLab CI). This could also be container running on ECS, K8s talking to a managed database.

Senior UX Designer | Remote / London | Technology Consultancy

I am engaged with an award-winning Technology Consultancy who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior UX Designer to be based out of the London area. The role is newly released, part of a UK-wide recruitment drive within their wider design function and is a key strategic hire for them due to it being embedded within their portfolio of UK Government and Public Sector projects.

Role Overview

Taking up a position focused mainly on hands-on design, your role will see you embedded within their portfolio of work focusing on digital transformation and technology change for their Public Sector clients. You will be given the chance to work on enterprise-scale projects, using a diverse set of tools/technologies whilst also getting involved in the mentoring and coaching of Junior Designers. You will be expected to drive Agile processes and your role will see you support a number of projects within the UK Government space, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle.

Travel & Working Patterns

This role will be 100% remote for the foreseeable future due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, but will involve some client-based work once the pandemic is over. You will be expected to spend 2/3 days' on-site with customers (90% of which are in Greater London), with the remainder of the week spent working from home.

Role Requirements

In terms of their core expectations from you, rather than copying and pasting the JD, I have decided to pick out the key requirements below:

* E2E Design Experience - Ideally a hybrid mix of skills, encompassing the E2E process with understanding and knowledge of hands-on design principles, research and delivery.
