Data Insight Developer - remote - financial sector - excellent salary (DEO)
The role:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business areas and projects to identify, refine, capture, and fulfil insight requests leveraging the use of data to drive and improve business performance and services.
- Act as key influencer and insight consultant to identify and promote opportunities for the use of data to help the business meet short- and long-term goals.
- Maintain and deliver best-in-class insight content, striving to continuously improve data visualisation, insight, storytelling, self-service, and user experience.
- Identify and leverage new and existing data domains which improve the use of data in business decision making through enhanced insight.
- Creation and maintenance of sustainable and accurate insight solutions, tailored to the needs of the business, that comply with governance, architecture, and risk frameworks.
- Evolve insight through iterative design process and analysis of data, presenting conclusions and gathering feedback from colleagues and business partners.
- Demonstrate the effective utilisation of proven analytical and insight methods to provide meaningful insight.
- Be innovative and suggest improved ways of working while collaborating with other EDS colleagues to ensure the best insight solutions are delivered.
- Develop and share knowledge of modern insight capabilities and technologies, in particular data visualisation, data storytelling, analysis, and user experience.
- Create necessary data relationships and elements including hierarchies, attributes, metrics, filters, prompts, reports, dashboards, and apps required for insight solutions.
- Work closely with Data Insight Engineers to deliver new data requirements or changes and assist with the integration of data sources. Follow well-structured version control methods to ensure that we can roll back to previous versions and can maintain an audit trail of changes made.

The requirements:
- Proven track record of delivering self-serve solutions using latest BI technologies
- Experience of data analysis and insight generation that leads to business action
- Requirements gathering leading to functional and technical specification documentation
- Project and Change Management including Development Life Cycle
- Stakeholder Management and Engagement
Technologies:
- 5+ years of business intelligence development (MicroStrategy / Power BI)
- 3+ years experience in advanced query development and design using SQL / SAS
- Experience of cloud data platforms and technologies, Azure, AWS, including open source Python, R & Shiny (preferred)
- JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins knowledge (preferred)
