Software Engineer/Test Automation - SC or DV Cleared

Location: Fulltime - Onsite in Basingstoke

Rate: £600 - £650 per day Inside of IR35

Contract: 6 Month initial

Must have Clearance: current and transferable HLC / DV; must be UK nationals & single passport holders
NATIONAL SECURITY CLEARANCE must be active and transferable.
1. Security clearances must not be more than 10 years old or 7 years for DV; and it must have more than a year remaining before expiry
2. Candidate has taken up post within 6 months of the clearance being granted.
3. The individual must have worked on a government contract or for a government department/Police Force in a role requiring NSV clearance within the last 12 months;
4. The individual must not have resided overseas for more than 6 months during the break in service between government contracts.



We are looking for Higher Level Clearance Automated Test Developers to join our team, working full time and based on client site. As an Automated Test Developer, you will be responsible for the design and development of tests using the project approved tools. You will work within an Agile environment. You will liaise closely with the Test Manager, the Lead Architect and the Security Team to ensure the design; automation and test coverage meet the requirements. You will have clear demonstrable experience, knowledge and understanding of Automation Testing within modern software/applications development, especially with respect to Agile Development methodology.

You will need to be a confident communicator both written and oral, in order to work within the different teams and directly with the client.
Your responsibilities in the Automation tool evaluation, Define the road map for automation, create, execute and debug the test scenarios with defined tools, the creation and debugging of the test scenarios.

The role is co-located with the prime-contractor and customer, providing opportunities to develop and demonstrate consultancy skills. This role will be based full time on client site near Reading"
Proven experience leading and mentoring successful engineering teams.
Experience of full software development lifecycle using Agile(SAFe)/DevOps concepts.
Practical experience with continuous integration tools.
Attendance at Agile Team meetings and events.

Consulting skills, e.g. problem solving, for instance to understand the clients challenges and translate this in how to assist Software development skills, e.g. JAVA, C# and understanding of software development best practices
Test automation tools, enterprise (e.g. Tricentis TOSCA, Microfocus UFT) and open source (e.g. Robot Frameworks, Selenium) testing tools.
Knowledge of the delivery life cycle and best practice in test automation
Ability to evaluate different tools against defined criteria to develop the right solution based on that specific challenge
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken

Job Overview:

The Systems Engineering function provides expertise to all projects through the bid and full development lifecycle. It ensures that both project and statutory requirements are met and works to improve the effectiveness of the systems design function within the company. It is responsible for the system architecture and integration of the solution. It is responsible for design for cost and design for manufacture.

Required Skills:

* Essential:

* Degree in an engineering, mathematical or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience and a full understanding of Systems Engineering, the V-Model and associated processes/lifecycles.
* Significant experience of developing high quality requirements and establishing a fully compliant systems design.
* Experience in writing high quality technical documentation and the formal technical review of such material.
* Experience working as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and developing new areas of expertise as and when required.
* Advanced knowledge of System Engineering practices, methodologies, processes, techniques and technology trends.
* Experience of DOORS, UML, SEBoK, Enterprise Architect and SysML.
* Experience of hands-on development of either hardware, software or firmware development, particularly in an embedded environment.
* Act as work package owner to manage and deliver the agreed and required tasks on time and on budget

I am working with a large client who are looking for a true engineer with experience in Kubernetes cluster deployment, We need to ensure they are an infrastructure expert who has worked with preferably AWS or Azure. Could you be the DevOps engineer we are looking for?

This will be for a minimum of 6 months with the potential to extend.

Requirements

* In-depth understanding of the Linux operating system and how it interacts with container run times.
* Knowledge of GitOps Principles and Tooling (FluxCD, Terraform)
* Knowledge of Kustomize/Helm
* In-depth understanding of inner Kubernetes workings (networking and storage stack, pod scheduling)
* Knowledge of Vault
* Knowledge of DevSecOps best-practices and continuous integration
* Knowledge of the Rancher ecosystem preferred

Who you'll be working with
You will be working remotely or on a client site, in collaboration with Capgemini and Client Architects, Project Managers, SMEs to respond to client requirements. Delivering proposals and projects on time and above customer expectation.
The focus of your role
* Inputting into proposals, simple to complex.
* Creating High Level Designs and gaining internal & client approval, following process.
* Creating Low Level designs from approved High Level Designs
* Configuring core infrastructure components e.g. Data Centre Fabric, Access/Distribution Switches, routers, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Authentication servers, Wi-Fi controllers, management tooling.
* Performing impact assessments on large or complex networks.
* Inputting into strategy.

What you will bring:
* Expected to have undertaken other Network Architecture roles for at least 5 years.
* Have demonstrable experience of designing and configuring Network systems e.g. Data Centre Fabric, Access/Distribution Switches, routers, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Authentication servers, Wi-Fi___33 controllers, management tooling.
* Will typically be qualified to Cisco CCIE level or vendor equivalent accreditations
* Will be able to demonstrate knowledge of network architecture in a secure environment
* Have a broad understanding of Enterprise Architecture and other technical towers; Hosting, End User Compute, Storage, Security, Apps.
