My client is a leading insurance company that have partnered with a cloud consultancy working on their new, bleeding edge insurance platform that went from concept to sale 7 months. They are now building an in house elite development team to bring the product internally.

The role is a Software Engineer role operating within a Code First, Cloud First Methodology.

It is AWS focused work and predominantly code in golang and react but languages aren't important as long as you're passionate about AWS. You will get the chance to pick up GoLang in the position, even if you've never used the technology.

The office is in Hoxton and there's a minimum required to go in once a fortnight.

Skills & Qualifications

* Strong experience in AWS and Serverless
* Strong experience in a back-end programming language such as node.js or golang
* Bonus - Experience with TypeScript

As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you will:

* Own the architecture and big picture thinking across the platform in relation to front-end development.
* Lead and mentor the front-end engineering team to ensure the delivery of high-quality and performant code.
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and other leads to plan out the technical execution of new products and major features.
* Helping decompose our monolithic React SPA into multiple micro-frontends.

Key Skills:

* You are user-focused - we solve our customer's problems together; everybody has a say in planning, design & execution.
* You're a great communicator. This role will require leading discussions with multiple teams from different functions of the business. Presenting ideas and answering questions in open discussion is no problem for you.
* 5+ years of React experience with a strong understanding of its internals as well as a thorough knowledge of the wider javascript ecosystem.
* You love identifying new technologies, patterns, and techniques and planning out how we can roll them out across teams to improve productivity, code quality, and user experience across every division.

My client is looking for a passionate candidate to fill the position of a Principle Software Engineer / Team lead role within a global , corporate, company. This position will be split 50% hands on and 50% hands off. You'll be managing a team and will become very submersed within the relevant technologies.

Role & Responsibilities

* You will be responsible for leading and guiding the team as a team lead and dealing with any team issues and conflict.

* You will work alongside the Head of Engineering to set and achieve goals and objectives for the team
* You will help, evaluate and drive technical decisions and plan teams development and support.
* You will be working with engineers at all levels, as well as promoting technical standards, sharing your expertise, helping them to find the best solutions while also giving them coaching and mentoring to set the teams for success and help them perform at their best.
* You will have flexibility to use your personal judgement and feedback to gauge where your contribution is needed
* Work with your peers from other areas to widen your knowledge, deliver broader solutions and ensure re-usability of the tech and skills across different domains and also support each other.
