This AWS Consulting Partner in Berlin is still founder-owned and managed, has about 25 people, mainly technical consultants and is specialised in providing nextgenBI solutions to clients of all sizes. They do so on the basis of AWS and they have been an AWS consulting partner for a while. The whole family consists of 12 different nationalities and they offer real opportunities for growth. The role:

As an experienced AWS DevOps specialist, you help out the team as well as clients with infrastructure and architecture topics. You will be solving complex problems, helping to implement business intelligence and data analytics solutions on the AWS cloud, advocating for DevOps tools and mentality and be the main contact person (expert) for these areas.



Tasks:

- you take the requirements of our customers and develop suitable system architectures based on AWS;

- you accompany the transformation and migration of existing on-premise applications to cloud platforms;

- you advise customers on the design and development of complex business intelligence architectures and data infrastructures as well as on the selection of optimal technologies and products.



Profile:

- you have worked with AWS for at least 2 years and can work independently with most infrastructure products

- you are experience in IaC and automatised deployment

- you have experience with cloud migrations

- good English skills

- excellent communication skills

Summary:

One of clients in the Consulting industry is looking to bring on a fully-remote full-time AWS Data Engineering Consultant that is based on the West Coast. Due to the nature of the Consulting industry, this person may need to travel up to 80% in the future (2022 and beyond). However, it is much more likely to be around 50%.

Ideal Qualifications:

- 4+ years of SQL experience

- 4+ years of Python coding experience

- 3+ years of AWS Cloud experience

- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing large scale data pipelines with Redshift/Spark in combination with Scala

- Excellent communication and client-facing experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are expanding our development team and are now looking for a Cloud Architect. The Cloud Architect will take a lead role working closely with our Operations Engineering team to provide a world-class DevOps Environment capable of handling the anticipated development load.



Responsibilities

* Architect and provide technical direction for our approach for cloud/SaaS and on-premise products
* Lead on the setting and enforcement of architecture standards and practices affecting development of all new products as well as impacting existing ones. Develop these standards in coordination with peers in other divisions.
* Review and evaluate new and existing architecture and code to ensure it meets standards; or for existing products that they will operate within the overall cloud architecture.
* Evangelize the cloud and microservice message and architecture within the development organization and to our field organizations, partners, and customers.
* Research new technologies, including hands-on technical evaluation and POCs.



QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience designing and running production workloads in AWS.
* Hands-on experience with core AWS services, including running containers on ECS and functions on Lambda.
* Ability to design and build CI/CD pipelines with CodePipeline/Build/Deploy or Jenkins.
* Experience running Linux and/or Windows environments.
* Ability to design highly available and performant solutions in the AWS.
* Working knowledge of database technologies.
* Strong skills with scripting technologies, such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible.
* Experience writing IasC with CloudFormation/Terraform.
* Experience with the AWS Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption frameworks.

* Senior thought leader responsible for executing the technical aspects of the company's analytics architecture strategy. * Expert knowledge of data science algorithms, libraries and tools
* Expert knowledge of the data analytics workflow between data generation and customer interaction
* Expert knowledge of data engineering pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure
* Extensive experience designing data systems/solutions to manage data in complex, distributed, and massively parallel systems
* Extensive experience with data engineering tools, languages, and frameworks for the mining, cleansing, and exploration of data
* An understanding of data virtualization solutions is highly desirable
* Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies and microservice architecture
* Proven experience developing big data solutions
* Experience with data sovereignty and data security aspects are highly desirable
* Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with security or networking product development lifecycles is highly desirable
