Jefferson Frank are working in partnership with an agile and forward thinking Fintech company that are based in Stockholm. Originally focusing on personal services to the regular worker, they made the decision to switch to the corporate market which has catapulted the company to being one of the most successful of it's type. Their service allows customers to pay ANY invoice with a credit card, making it an efficient operation for all parties. Furthermore, they charge around 3% for their services making them cheaper than factoring or loaning from a bank. In addition to this customers earn points which can offer a range of benefits in return.
As stated, the switch in markets has been hugely beneficial to this client and so they have experienced rapid growth as a result of this. They've achieved €5 million in turnover, grown 1100% in 3 years and have acquired €15 million in funding since the beginning of 2021. Now entering a scaling up phase they are aggressively hiring in 2022 to ensure they keep up with the demand they're experiencing for their services. This initially comes in the form of hiring for multiple Engineering Lead (s) to lead separate applications following a team re-structuring that is setting the company up for the future.
As mentioned teams are currently being restructured and split into 2 separate applications which will allow them to deliver a premium service to their customers. The end goal here is to create 2 autonomous, self-sufficient teams which work independently from each other including an Engineering Lead, Product Manager, Quality Assurance and Developers. Both applications are build using the same infrastructure; Node.JS, React, Microservices and GCP. You'll be required to show your experience with full-stack development and a strong competence with all of these technologies. Preferably from a senior/similar role in the past.
This is a hands on position where you'll be immersed in a technical environment, much of your time will be spent coding full-stack. You'll be responsible for building and overseeing your team building API's, troubleshooting and fixing performance related issues and developing scalable solutions. Your core responsibility will be managing the entire application from an architectural standpoint to maintain performance and efficiency.
Both teams will work in an agile methodology and so you'll be managing the scrum. You will be working alongside the product manager, translating business needs into tech stories for developers whilst assurance due diligence is completed with quality assurance through code reviews. In addition to this, you'll be responsible for training and mentoring the more junior members of the development team.
* Previous experience as an Engineering Lead or a similar, technical role
* Strong full-stack experience with Node.JS & React (minimum 3 years) having built API's and/or microservices from scratch to be added to an already existing infrastructure
* Cloud experience (preferably with GCP) used for deployment and hosting services
* Experience managing a microservices architecture
* Previous experience as a software architect or having strong architectural responsibilities within a similar position in the past
* Strong interest or previous experience with Fintech projects
