Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Job Type: Contract to hire
Duration: 6 months (then hire)
Location: 100% remote
Responsibilities:
* Track, Verify and Validate current and future architectures against ISO and NIST controls
* Architect, design, and implement a corporate cloud architecture following DISA CC SRG and CMMC
* guidelines
* Monitor, analyze, and react to network anomalies and security concerns
* Lead in coordinating teams in preliminary incident response investigations and recoveries
* Communicate corporate security standards across internal teams
Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or related degree
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in network security and/or network infrastructure
* Understanding of NIST 800-171, DISA CC SRG, and CMMC requirements and controls
* AWS service experience including IAM, VPC, Route 53, API Gateway, CloudWatch, AppConfig,
* Service Catalog, Security Hub, and GuardDuty, and CloudFormation
* In depth knowledge and experience of network topologies - DMZ's, WAN's, VPN's, etc
* Deep understanding of ICMP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSH, SMTP, SMB, NFS, TCP/IP
* Ability to analyze anomalies in network traffic
* Experience working in Linux/Unix OS based systems
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Demonstrated experience in a lead or formal leadership role; function as self-starter; possess
* strong written and oral communication skills
* Create and update technical documentation including network diagrams
* Excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with
* senior customer and management and customers.
Desired Skills:
* Experience developing and testing software with python
* Developing lambdas for recovery and reporting of system faults
* Testing and deployment within CI/CD environments
* Experience with agile practices and methodologies
* Ability to work with multiple programming languages, operating systems, and development
* Understanding of satellite software systems
