About the Job:

Role, you will design, develop, deploy, and document secure and functional APIs that integrate Employment Hero's HR and Payroll modules with third-party client platforms (such as timesheet and finance systems). You'll work day-to-day with our clients and partners, acting as the technical expert who architects API solutions based on client requirements and Employment Hero's documentation. You will manage the full API lifecycle, liaise with third-party vendors, contribute to solution design workshops, and ensure the integration meets performance, security, and documentation standards. Your work will make a direct impact by enabling clients to use automated HR and Payroll processes efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

API Solution Design & Development

* Architect and implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs to integrate Employment Hero with external platforms.
* Implement OAuth 2.0 and token-based authentication for API access.
* Manage the API life-cycle including testing, deployment, version control, logging, and monitoring.
* Use Python (e.g. FastAPI) and Azure services (e.g. Azure Functions, Microsoft Fabric pipelines) for development and orchestration.
* Document integration specifications and processes clearly for future maintenance and support.

Collaboration & Client Integration Support

* Liaise with third-party vendors and client IT teams to align technical details.
* Work closely with consultants to align API designs with functional requirements.
* Participate in workshops, contribute technical insight, and support user acceptance testing.
* Deliver training, handover materials, and ongoing technical documentation.
* Share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement.

About you:

* Experienced in developing RESTful APIs and implementing OAuth 2.0 authentication.
* Skilled in Python (preferably FastAPI), Git, SQL, and cloud services like Microsoft Azure.
* Familiar with technologies such as: Airbyte, Rivery and Hevo
* Familiar with HR, Payroll, Recruitment, and L&D terminology and work-flows.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
* Strong communicator, proactive problem-solver, and agile project contributor.

Contract GCP Developer Role - London - £485/pd Outside IR35

Please note - this role will require you to attend the London based office two days per week. You must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role.

Are you a hands-on GCP Developer with a passion for rapid experimentation and cutting-edge technology? A leading financial services organisation in Central London is seeking a proactive and skilled developer to help bring ambitious ideas to life.

This is a contract role offering £485 per day, outside IR35, ideal for someone ready to design and deliver impactful, scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Role Overview

You'll work closely with the Head of Development and Head of Emerging Technology to design, build, and deploy scalable prototypes and production-ready applications on GCP. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys turning complex challenges into elegant technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Rapid Prototyping: Build POCs and MVPs to validate ideas quickly.
* End-to-End Development: Leverage GCP services like Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Vertex AI, GKE, and more.
* DevOps & IaC: Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
* Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency across GCP environments.

Required Experience

* Proven hands-on experience with GCP development and architecture.
* Strong programming skills in Python (preferred), Java, or Go.
* Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, and Pub/Sub.
* Solid understanding of CI/CD, Terraform, and Git-based workflows.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Desirable Experience

* Google Cloud Certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Developer/Architect).
* Experience in startups, labs, or agile development environments.
* Familiarity with GenAI, advanced analytics, or data engineering on GCP.

Location & Contract Details

* Location: Central London (Hybrid working available)
* Rate: £485 per day
* IR35 Status: Outside IR35
* Contract Length: Initial 6 months (with potential extension)
