Roles and Responsibilities:

- Lead a a team comprising of Data Engineers and Data Analysts
- Define the data strategy and road map, including large scale analytics program, data management, visualisation and reporting
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT data integration
- Develop and drive modern data architectural approaches
- Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
- Maintain strict governance and standards on the usage of transaction data and models

Requirements:

- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (i.e Postgres and MongoDB)
- Experience with AWS Big Data Services (i.e Amazon Kinesis, EMR, Glue, Redshift) =
- Proficiency in programming languages and open source solutions
- Excellent experience with Data modelling and data engineering tools and platforms (i.e Kafka, Spark, and Hadoop)
- Experience in CI/CD tools (i.e Jenkins, Gitlab, BitBucket)
- Comfortable working with modern tech stack (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Knowledgeable in system design, data structures, data modelling, access and storage
- AWS/GCP certifications will be advantageous

As an Engineering Manager, you will help drive the DevOps culture within one of the engineering functions. You will manage the service and development of our AWS platform or applications across production and non-production environments, including but not limited to the modernisation of existing services. The Engineering Manager will have a key role in managing the team workload and reporting on progress, working in accordance with development methodologies. The user will have leverage industry best practices, tools, agile methods and infrastructure to deliver high quality service.

* Has experience in successfully driving solutions in a cloud environment alongside multi-disciplinary teams across different, but related specialisms.
* Navigates multiple critical components & changes within their modern AWS estate

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will manage a diverse and global group of software developers in the development of a best-in-class enterprise grade cloud-based platform for decentralized clinical trials. Along with your team of software developers, you will work closely with product managers, project managers, architects and executives to build to their specifications for both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

* Build a world-class software development team through a combination of training, career development, recruiting, and process improvement
* Define and lead the adoption of best practices and processes for software development.
* Collaborate efficiently with product Managers, developers, QA and software architects to build an enterprise grade, secure SaaS Web, mobile and analytics platform
* Collaborate with project managers and external stakeholders to optimize developers bandwidth to drive implementation

* Have a strong passion for automation, testing, and code quality

Jefferson Frank are looking for a Software Engineering Manager based in Ireland to on-board with a Dublin based consultancy for a 12 month initial contract.

Role Overview:

Among other duties you will be responsible for (list is not exhaustive):

* Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team
* Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly and monthly goals
* Liaising with team members, management and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard
* Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible
* Analysing existing capability and scheduling training sessions and meetings to drive improvements
* Hiring, building and growing strong teams
* Technical pre-sales

Role Requirements:

* Agile experience
