My client is currently hiring a Data Engineer to join an innovative greenfield insurance initiative based in London.



Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable data pipelines to support a modern data platform.

Lead data migration efforts and manage data governance activities.

Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Support ongoing data transformation projects and ensure data quality across the board.



Requirements:

5+ years professional experience within Data engineering

Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (required).

Familiarity with DBT, Airflow, and AWS (preferred).

Background in building and maintaining robust data architectures.

Ability to identify and resolve complex data issues and improve data validation processes.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Data Engineer you'll be responsible for building and deploying full solutions from scratch, while maintaining security and data best practices. Duties will include product-based work as well as migration tasks. Due to your seniority you will also be tasked with mentoring junior engineers. You will be joining a close-knit team of 6 Data Engineers, as well as 30 Engineers in the businesses data arm.



Requirements:

As a data Engineer, you will shape next-gen data architecture, build smart solutions with Web and Data Science teams, and harness Gen AI to move faster and smarter. You will be experienced in AI and enjoy writing code.

Responsibilities

* Build and maintain scalable distributed systems using Scala and Java
* Design complex Spark jobs, asynchronous APIs, and parallel processes
* Use Gen AI tools to enhance development speed and quality
