2 days per week in South London office



My client is a leading technology organisation providing secure platforms for their customers, they are now on a journey to AWS from their on-premise data centres and are looking for an AWS SME Architect to provide expertise as well as provide knowledge transfer and upskill the existing teams in AWS adoption.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for porting a legacy Hosted Managed Service solution spanning data centres to AWS
* Design and configure the optimal infrastructure solution for porting a legacy solution into the cloud
* Build a solution that embraces 'everything as code'
* Support the solution implementation testing and live cutover
* Collaborate in the modernisation of the solution offering

Skills & Experience

* Experience in AWS services, EC2 instances, networking components, storage, security groups etc.
* Excellent understanding of integration architecture and patterns
* Excellent understanding of AWS architecture and best practices
* Experience in migrating legacy systems into AWS
* Sound understanding of contemporary software engineering practice
* Experience in modernising legacy solutions for the cloud
* Experience in multiple integration and API management technologies
* Excellent understanding of FINOPS and cost optimisation of the AWS estate

Knowledge of (great if have):

* Solutions implementing MS Windows Failover Clustering
* Relations database management systems running on AWS: SQL Server; PostgreSQL; Amazon RDS
* Solutions deployed to Linux instances
* Containerisation

Looking for an Architect to join an Advanced Consulting Partner. They are one of the UK's fastest growing consultancies, winning multiple awards due to their migration work and to which they have built up an extensive client list. They are looking for someone to come in to help ensure our clients needs are met in architecting the framework, allowing scalability and cost efficiency, utilizing AWS services.

You will be working with a range of people across, architects, technologists and development teams with the responsibility to ensure that products and solutions integrate with clients. Additionally, as an Architect, you will take a lead role working closely with our Operations Engineering team to provide a world-class DevOps Environment capable of handling the anticipated development load.

Main Responsibilities

* Architect and provide technical direction for our approach for cloud/SaaS and on-premise products
* Review and evaluate new and existing architecture and code to ensure it meets standards; or for existing products that they will operate within the overall cloud architecture.

Role & Responsibilities

* Often working as a sole Data Architect leading technical capability, project and data architecture.
* Define customer requirements, identify new opportunities to implement technology, refine solutions then work with technical teams on solution build.
* Designing and developing solutions across Analytics, Data Integration and AI/ML.
* Define and develop data models aligning with functional and non functional requirements
* Present public and client facing collateral about projects and practices
* Lead production of solutions with Engagement team

Skills & Qualifications

* Shaping and designing solutions
* A number of years experience as a Data Architect
* AWS expert across the range of infrastructure tools (S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena etc)
* Expert in data modelling and knowledge of latest trends (like data warehousing, data lakes, lake house, data mesh, data fabric etc)
* Selection and configuration of appropriate tooling, standards and solutions
* Strong stakeholder skills
* 7+ years of experience in Data, ideally progressing from a Data Engineering position into an Architecture role
* Experience of assurance activity like design review, code testing etc
