Overview

One of our repeat AWS Partner customers is looking to add a 100% remote Data Engineer to their team. Founded in 2016, this firm specializes in providing Health care IT and Cyber Security solutions that help their customers to improve health care quality, coverage and cost.

Job Description

You will work with SAS and DevOps teams to improve the analytic experience for Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) users through system stability and advanced functionality.

Responsibilities:

* Developing SAS code and macros to perform common operations such as systems and user activity monitoring, external database querying, and data set formatting and cleansing
* Providing SQL and SAS code reviews for best practices and performance
* Modernizing current analytic platform to achieve better integration's with big data stores (e.g. Hive, etc.), and AWS tech stack
* Optimizing work flows to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for analytic solutions within CCSQ

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* 5+ year's experience in SAS Programming
* 3+ year's experience working within the SAS Viya Platform
* 3+ years working in tech support, DevOps, development or IT consulting.

Qualifications:

* Hands-on experience with SAS Studio and SAS Environment Manager
* Experience with SQL and understanding of relational databases
* Track record of working independently with little supervision
* Experience with applications in Linux based environments
* Experience with code repositories like GitHub
* Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
* Experience working on Security, DevOps and Agile teams
* Experience working in an AWS environment.
* Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible or AWS CloudFormation is a plus

Preferred:

* Experience with Python is a plus
* Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible or AWS CloudFormation is a plus
