Test Automation Engineer - 75.000€ - Grow into QA Manager

Test Automation Engineer

Product Development - SaaS

Flemish Brabant

65.000€ - 75.000€

How do you define sexy?

For us, making a positive impact through our work is sexy. In a product development organization in the Flemish Brabant, there is a team of visionary developers who is developing a data management platform addressed to those professionals whose work is to cure cancer and treat genetic diseases. How do they do that exactly? By creating a software solution that assists them in managing and analysing the already complex production processes these therapies require.

We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer who will set-up the Test Automation strategy and write the scripts side-by-side with the CTO and the dev team. In this position, as you'll be the first Tester, you'll have the opportunity to become the QA Manager and build a QA team around you. Your tasks in the beginning will include end-to-end testing, as well as perhaps the frontend testing. The ideal candidate is an advocate of test-driven development and has experience with:

* Test Automation! We're not looking for a specific tool from you, but we use Cypress for end-to-end testing / integration testing. If you don't work with Cypress but with another similar tool, we're happy to see you.
* Experience withbackend andfrontend unit testing is a great plus! Any unit testing experience would yield a match. An indication of our current stack:

* For frontend unit testing, we're using Karma and Jasmine, but Mocha would also be welcome from your side.
* For backend unit testing, we're using Pytest.

* Fluency in English and an Academic Degree.
* Energy, perseverance, and an antifragile character!

1 We're not looking for specific years of experience, the role is open to all seniority levels.
2 We're not looking for unicorns who have experience with all our tools. Mindset and potential are equally important.

On top of the technical skills, the ideal candidate enjoys a stimulating working environment, is highly motivated, and aspires to become a key-player in the growth of the company, which is guaranteed that will result to his/her personal growth to a Manager.

The role offers:

In-house work, flexible hours and 3-4 remote work days per week. And of course, a competitive salary (usually up to a range of 3700 - 5200 tailored to your seniority level,) and several benefits (all the standards in Belgium, such as net allowance, health & group insurance, mobility allowance or a company car with a flexible income plan arrangement, internet, meal vouchers etc). If you don't need a company car, you can still get the mobility allowance on top of your gross salary, or use it to pay your mortgage or rent.
