I'm working with a client dubbed 'The Netflix of Mobile Games', this is due to their vast community of 150 million + customers using their platform across the world. They're recognised for giving their customers access to the best android games available on the market. Free to play without the common barriers of adverts and in-app purchases. In a volatile and cut-throat sector they're devoting the first few months of 2023 to enhancing the customer experience further with streaming capabilities, ensuring the system operates at a low latency, incorporating Webrtc and other solutions related to audio/image compression in addition to data streaming.
This company has recently been acquired by a larger organisation that has an addressable customer base of 1.7 billion, meaning this client has incredibly strong financial backing and the resources necessary to remain as an industry leading player. All of this in addition to maintaining a flat organisational structure and open working environment to encourage employees to be creative and take technical influence
As previously mentioned, this client is optimising their streaming capabilities and so is looking to take on multiple streaming engineers to enhance the experience for the gamers who use their platform. You'll be heavily involved within their cloud offering which is ran through AWS. You'll be programming primarily with Node.js on their newly created microservices architecture, running AWS lambda's whilst occasionally building frontend functionalities with React. You'll get the chance to build android-based solutions, optimise frame-rates, image compression's and resolutions in addition to implementing big data analyzations.
They're looking for someone to help expand AND streamline their current system as they continue their expansion into streaming & 5G. You'll be faced with technical challenges daily with customers streaming games from their servers and ensure the input is then streamed online. This is all needing to be done as speed and in real time.
You'll be doing all of this in a cross-functional team with highly skilled colleagues, some of which have worked in gaming for the majority of their career. All of which makes for a great working environment where knowledge sharing and technical progression is a core pillar to their company culture. The company can offer you a highly competitive salary for the Gothenburg region in addition to a wellness allowance and the industry-leading ITP1 pension.
* Strong understanding of cloud services/serverless architectures.
Beneficial if you have:
* Passion to build streaming solutions OR work with a scale-up company within Gaming
* Previous experience working with cloud-native environments, ideally with AWS
