AWS Lead Cloud Engineer - Contract/Perm

Job Description



The Lead Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the technical innovation and leadership of our company's enterprise store operating platform.



Working in collaboration hosting and infrastructure teams, this leader will own the technical delivery of the server side application from requirements to successful delivery into production and then managing and enhancing it to ensure a seamless customer, team member and partner experience. This leader will adopt an agile yet stable and secure approach to development leveraging core engineering principles.



Role & Responsibilities



* Under the direction of the Cloud Security Manager, this role will own the technical delivery of the service side architecture, design, build, monitoring, and optimal performance and security of AWS public cloud infrastructure systems, tools and processes while acting as primary IT contact for those technologies.
* Embrace the vision to lead the transformation of currently leveraged outsourced application development model to an in-house model to include development of key business and customer facing solutions
* Serve as the strategist who researches public and private Cloud technologies and frameworks, and creates reference architecture and implementations for the Cloud Automation engineers to follow
* Completely own the technical delivery of the automated provisioning of cloud and cloud native application infrastructure stack using GitOps and Kubernetes Operators.
* Serve as the implementation partner and advisor to the Product Owner of the Enterprise Cloud Provisioning Stack
* Lead the Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to define/author infrastructure and deployment requirements; recommend, challenge, and validate Cloud services to meet new application/product needs
* Work with the Cloud Architect to author clear and specific requirements, detailed design, conduct code reviews and approve pull requests for Automation implementations and mentor the team on cloud automation best practices



Skills & Qualifications



The Lead Cloud Engineer is expected to have proven experience in building and delivering highly complex platform and strong technical background, and experience with modern technologies and leveraging best practices in the areas of open source tech solutions, and in managing software development and agile methodologies. In addition, working with the Engineering Manager - Cloud And DevOps, this leader will build and lead a highly technical team of developers and engineers. This role is expected to apply leading edge practices to solve business challenges and develop a culture of high performance, urgency, and productivity.
