Senior systems engineer - GCP (Google cloud) - Remote working!

Job Description

I am working with an exciting business in Derbyshire who are looking to engage with an experienced senior systems engineer with a good knowledge of GCP (Google cloud). This business have some exciting project road mapped and the successful candidate would be coming in at a hugely exciting time in the businesses growth and the internal IT teams road map around GCP.

Role & Responsibilities

I am looking for a highly experienced Engineer with knowledge of a broad range of technologies - specifically, someone with strong cloud infrastructure skills (GCP).This is likely to mean that you've already spent a considerable amount of time implementing scalable platforms and supporting mission critical systems.

Skills & Qualifications

* A degree/HND in a computer science or engineering discipline (or significant relevant experience)
* 3+ years software development and testing experience
* A proven ability to manage own workload and deliver software projects
* An automation first mentality
* Strong experience in GCP environments, ideally with App Engine
* Good knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes
* Expert use of monitoring & tracing tools such as Stackdriver
* Experience with Atlassian software, Jira and Confluence
* Experience with CI/CD such as Bitbucket / Git and Cloud Build
* Core skills in coding or scripting languages (e.g. Go, PHP, Bash)
* Excellent communication skills
* Linux and networking knowledge to support deployments and applications
* Passionate about Agile environments
* Database - MySQL, BigQuery

Infrastructure

* Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems

-Server 2019, Windows 10, Active Directory, RADIUS, NPS

-Debian / Ubuntu

* Good knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes
* Strong networking & security experience

-pfSense, Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate

* Experience with Google Cloud, G Suite & Office 365
* Project life cycle, design & delivery
