Full-Stack Developer


What will you do....

As a Full Stack Web Developer you will:

* Develop solid, well performing and maintainable back-end code using primarily Java and NodeJS, utilising services such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Oracle DB, AWS S3, AWS SQS, AWS Lambda
* Write solid and maintainable front-end code using React JS or similar frameworks
* Automate tests using tools like Percy, Selenium, Junit or Jasmine
* Rapidly solve problems and bugs
* Work with Team Lead, developers, designers and product managers to make the test taker experience as good as possible
* Contribute with technical specifications that are both internal and customer facing
* Participate in on-call rotation
* Promote knowledge sharing and DevOps culture across our entire engineering department

On the technical side, you have...

* background in the latest frontend technologies (e.g. ECMAScript 2018, TypeScript, Webpack, etc.)
* in-depth knowledge of at least one JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Vue, or Angular)
* strong Java (or similar) skills
* experience with test automation - Percy, Selenium, Junit, Jasmine or comparable tools
* strong understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and CSS-based design
* production experience with continuous integration
* experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), SQL databases (preferably Oracle RDS), NoSQL databases and ElasticSearch
* experience working with REST APIs
* familiarity with performance and security best practices
* experience with Agile development methodology & Test Driven development is a plus

Location: This role is based in our Edinburgh office. The successful applicant will be able to arrange a flexible working arrangement with their line manager to work from the office, home or a mixture of the two. There may be a need to travel to our Oslo office from time to time.
