Just as data permeates every aspect of our surroundings, the technologies for analyzing it are rapidly advancing. Open source tools such as Python, R, Spark, and Scala are challenging the more traditional business intelligence architecture. Simultaneously, there is a growing market demand to integrate machine learning algorithms and applications into existing in-house technology landscapes.
Our client, a leading global company with a vast team of data enthusiasts, are on the lookout for individuals who can maintain a balance between a well-established business intelligence landscape and the integration of novel techniques and algorithms. We are seeking a data analyst/scientist with expertise in traditional BI activities, including constructing BI data warehouses and generating related end-user reports.
Your role involves participation in end-to-end project delivery including:
* Understanding the challenges faced by business stakeholders
* Grasping the intricacies of data
* Bridging the gap between business challenges and available data
* Preparing and assessing data quality
* Employing advanced analytical methods to model data based on business requirements
* Iteratively evaluating model outcomes until requirements are met
* Communicating results to end-users
* Deploying these models
* A bachelor/master's degree related to data analytics, such as data science, data mining, statistics, artificial intelligence, computer science, mathematics, or engineering.
* Appreciable experience in data mining and machine learning projects.
* A connection with or interest in traditional BI.
* Analytical skills complemented by strong social abilities.
* Experience with programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, Spark, or Scala.
* Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in at least one of the two national languages (French and Dutch) and English.
* Knowledge of big data (Hadoop, Google BigQuery, etc.) is considered as a plus.
* Familiarity with data warehouse design principles and ETL is considered as a plus.
