Lead Data Engineer - Oslo

We are searching for a Lead Data Engineer in Oslo!

As a company, we work to provide SaaS solutions tailored for schools and universities to help digitalise the education industry

We have built partnerships with academic institutes locally in Norway, as well as higher education providers in Europe, the US, Australia, and Asia to help make education accessible to more students

For the past few years, we have been steadily growing our data department alongside our team of developers delivering the software products - now we are looking for an experienced data engineer to take ownership of our data platform, and help grow the engineering team further

You will work alongside fellow data engineers, as well as data scientists and analysts as part of a cross functional data department, delivering complete data solutions for our customers

We aim to help education providers make smarter decisions when it comes to designing examination papers, determining grade boundaries, identifying plagiarism, and more

Ultimately you will play a key role in transforming education through technology!

Some of your responsibilities will include:

* Leading the data engineering team from a technical point of view, and offer support & guidance to members
* Working closely with a team of data scientists and engineers to develop data pipelines for learning tools
* Designing, developing, and implementing the architecture and data pipeline for ML in production

We are looking for you to bring:

* Education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative field
* Professional experience in data engineering
* Professional experience with developing in Python
* Experienced with SQL and relational databases
* Experience with AWS, in particular S3, SQS, Lambda
* Familiar with Elasticsearch, Apache Spark and/or Apache Hive
