Software Engineer (Ruby) - £55-65K - London (2 days a month) - IT Consultancy (Government Projects)

Our client has a specific Central Government Business Unit working on exciting projects making a real difference!

They are in need of a Ruby Engineer to join the Development, QA and DevOps teams to write efficient code for high performance integrated software to help solve unique client problems.

The following experience will be required for this role:

* A keen interest in and good demonstrable commercial experience/knowledge of Ruby
* Creativity and enthusiasm for real-world problem solving
* Demonstrable commercial experience
* High standards of quality and meticulous levels of detail
* DevOps - familiarity with Bash, Golang, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python
* Good knowledge/experience in Node.JS, ReactJS-UI, Oracle-RDBMS and Open Source
* An understanding in some further software engineering skills (Git, unit testing, code management, continuous integration, caching, containerisation, clean code quality, code security and databases, etc.)
* Familiarity with cloud service providers, design patterns, server-less techniques and micro-service architectures would also be beneficial.

Working with this business means you get to work with clients to bring forward actionable insights that deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes. The role would require travel twice a month to their London office, but travel would be expensed.
