Azure Synapse Data Engineer - 6 Month Contract

Seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 6-month government project with expertise in Azure Synpase, Power BI, and data modeling. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence role and a proven track record of leading complex projects. Strong communication and consulting skills are required for this role, which involves interfacing with senior stakeholders on a key business transformation project.

Key Requirements:

* Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and Synapse
* Microsoft Platform knowledge including Azure, Power BI, SQL Server, and the Microsoft BI stack
* BI design and implementation using the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS)
* Power BI proficiency in tabular models, Power Pivot, Power BI Desktop, and Power Query
* DAX and SSAS tabular data model design and optimization
* ETL design and development using SSIS
* Customer engagement experience, including prototype reviews and requirements gathering
* Data warehouse knowledge

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proven problem-solving skills and thought leadership approach
* Relevant degree and current Australian Working Visa or Citizenship
